Lands temporarily reserved in the Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago Land Districts.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

And whereas by the sixty-ninth section of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, it is further provided that the Governor-General may from time to time, as he thinks fit, set aside reserves for any specified public purpose out of land acquired under the last-mentioned Act, provided that no land so acquired shall be set aside for endowments :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Acts, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section 15, Block X, Tokatoka Survey District. Bounded, commencing on the southern boundary of Section 4, Block X aforesaid,

297·7 links from its south-western corner, towards the west, north, and east by Section 4 aforesaid, 200, 250, and 200 links respectively; and towards the south by a public road, 250 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/3/126, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan No. 19705.) For a site for a post-office.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 18 perches, more or less, being Lot 1 of Section 62, Block XIV, Ohinewairua Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the main road, 416·6 links, and by part of Section 62 aforesaid; and towards the south-west generally by the Hautapu River: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/200, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For a resting-place for travelling stock.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Section 63, Raetihi Township Extension No. 1. Bounded towards the north by Alexander Road, 672·4 links; towards the east generally by Parapara Road, 417, 903·3, and 552·9 links; towards the south by Section 23 in the said township extension No. 1, 1224·5 links; and towards the west by Section 22 in the said township extension No. 1, 1696·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/140, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a public hospital.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Reserve 4010, Mount Nessing Settlement, Block VI, Opawa Survey District. Bounded on the north-west by a public road, 604·3 links; on the north-east by Lot 1A, 1040·2 links; and towards the south-west by Lot 4, Mount Nessing Settlement, 1201 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/145, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green. For a site for a public school.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Section 28, Block V, Woodland Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by section 4, Block V aforesaid, 214·4 links; towards the east by said section 4, 540·5 links; towards the south by a public road, 350 links; and towards the west and north-west by railway reserve, 325·7 and 380·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/44, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a public school.

Opening Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection by Discharged Soldiers on Optional System.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, which has been set apart for selection by discharged soldiers, shall be open for sale or selection by discharged soldiers on Thursday, the eleventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do
