Revoking a Proclamation taking Additional Land near Pukemiro for the Purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway (Huntly-Awaroa Branch).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken, or that any error in form or substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation, or the making or gazetting thereof, the Governor-General may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary:
And whereas it is found that the Proclamation taking the land near Pukemiro for the purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway (Huntly-Awaroa Branch) under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the nineteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 146, of the twenty-seventh day of the same month, page 3671, is in error in relation to the making or gazetting thereof:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 368 of the Native Land Act, 1909, and under Section 4 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1917.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section four of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1917, it is provided, inter alia, that, upon the assembled owners of any Native land passing a resolution that such land or any part thereof be disposed of to the Crown by way of gift for the purpose of settling thereon discharged Maori soldiers, the provisions of section three hundred and sixty-eight of the Native Land Act, 1909, shall apply in the same manner as if the land were being purchased and proclaimed under Part XIX of the Native Land Act, 1909:
And whereas a resolution was passed by the assembled owners of the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto, that such land be disposed of to the Crown by way of gift for the purpose of settling thereon discharged Maori soldiers:
And whereas such resolution has been duly confirmed by the Aotea District Maori Land Board and adopted by the Native Land Purchase Board:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1917, and by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and proclaim the land set out in the Schedule hereto to be vested in His Majesty the King, and to be Crown land accordingly.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 3,934 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Owhaoko D 1 Block, situated in Blocks I and V, Horotea Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by Owhaoko A East Block, towards the east by part of Owhaoko D 1 Block, towards the south by Owhaoko D 7 Block, and towards the west by Owhaoko B East Block. As the same is delineated on a plan deposited at the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and seventy-four of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia, that, on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the said Act, the Governor-General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become Crown land:
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the said Act:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and seventy-four of the said Act, and by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land set out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land.

PAEROA East 4B 1B 1 Block: Approximate area, 1,891 acres 1 rood; Paeroa Survey District.
