THE following special order, made by the Franklin County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913.

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 31 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Franklin County Council, on the petition of a majority of the ratepayers of the Karaka Road District, resolves by way of special order that the said Karaka Road District be merged in the County of Franklin, and the Board thereof abolished.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Franklin was hereunto affixed this 7th day of February, 1918, in the presence of—

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Mangawara Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

MANGAWARA DRAINAGE BOARD.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the No. 1 Special Rating Area of the Mangawara Drainage District was taken on the 8th day of January, 1918, on the proposal of the Mangawara Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £750 for the purpose of improving existing drains and making new ones in the said No. 1 Special Rating Area.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 7, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 0.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
