Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Papanui Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day of November, 1918.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain :

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Papanui Domain :

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the twelfth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen :

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

WILFRED HENRY BURNEY,
ALEXANDER FAIRBAIRN,
ALBERT LEWIS SMITH, and
JOHN WILLIAM WALTER,

as from the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, to be the Papanui Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the ninth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the County Council Chambers, Papanui, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.


SCHEDULE.

PAPANUI DOMAIN.

ALL that area in Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 2 roods 25 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section No. 5, situate in Block VII, Christchurch Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title No. 63, folio 212. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1475, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

Trustee for the Blackball Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

WILLIAM KELLS

to be a trustee, in the place of Henry Cater, who has left the district, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Blackball Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Robert Duncan and Harry Chilton, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

to be trustees, in the place of George Robert Lovelock, who is absent from the Dominion, and George Searle, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Ashhurst Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Jack Howard Vincent, Patrick Hanlon, and Thomas Hart, previously appointed.

Vesting the Control of an Historic Reserve in the Hawera Borough Council.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the historic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Hawera Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.
  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.
  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.

TURUTURUMOKAI PA.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more or less, being part of Subdivision 1 of part of Section 143, Patea District, Block VI, Hawera Survey District. Bounded towards the north and north-east by part of Section 143, Patea District, 889 and 317·6 links; again towards the north-east by Section 329, Patea District, 550 links; towards the south-east generally by the Turuturu Road, 26·7, 610·7, 332, 358·8, 318·5, and 20 links; and towards the west generally by the Tawhiti Stream.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 perch, more or less, being part of Sub-
