Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Dunedin City Council.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery
Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said
Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, doth hereby vest the control of the scenic
reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved
under the said Act) in the Dunedin City Council, subject to
the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby
    vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the
    reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said
    Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending
    on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of
    receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve.
    Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister
    charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as
    possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations
    made thereunder.


SCHEDULE.

KAIKORAI VALLEY SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 33 perches, more or less,
being parts of Sections 121, 122, and 123, Wakari Survey
District. Commencing at the north-western corner of aforesaid Section 121; thence bounded towards the north-east by
Section 120, Wakari Survey District, 1255·3 links; towards
the south-east by parts of aforesaid Sections 121 and 122,
308·3 and 700·8 links; again towards the south-east by other
parts of said Sections 122 and 123, 600 links; towards the
south-west generally by Lixmont Street, 756·5 links; towards
the north-west by Section 67, Block VI, Dunedin and East
Taieri Survey District, 52·3 links; again towards the north-east by part of Wakari Survey District, 83·3 links; again
towards the north-west by a line bearing 15° 37′, 1005·4 links,
to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 597/32, deposited in the Head Office, Department
of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.


PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices
of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons
set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the
office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908,
at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule,
are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations
under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the
Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

Passport Requirements, Panama.

IT is hereby notified for public information that persons
about to journey to the Republic of Panama are required to obtain vise of their passport before departure from
the Dominion.

The Consular Officers for the United States of America
are authorized to vise on behalf of the Republic of Panama,
and applications for vise, together with three unmounted
photographs, must be made to an American Consular Officer
at least fourteen days before the date of embarkation.
