Settlement Land set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—
EVANS SETTLEMENT.

SECTION 11, Block IV, Mangaone Survey District: Area, 180 acres.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Altering the Middle-line of a Branch Railway from the East Coast Main Trunk Railway to and along the Left Bank of the Wairoa River opposite the Town of Wairoa.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS, under the provisions in that behalf of section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, the middle-line of a branch railway from the East Coast Main Trunk Railway to and along the left bank of the Wairoa River opposite the Town of Wairoa was defined by a Proclamation dated the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15, of the tenth day of the same month:

And whereas it has been found necessary in the construction of such railway to alter such line in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the aforesaid section one hundred and eighty-eight, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke the Schedule to the said Proclamation; and in lieu thereof do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said branch railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Subdivision 2, Paeroa 1b Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District, marked 0 mile, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly, then easterly, then southerly, and then easterly direction for a distance of 1 mile 51·361 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., Subdivisions 2, 1E, 1C, Paeroa 1b Block, Block I, Clyde Survey District; Subdivisions 32C, 32B, 32A, 30C, 30B, Taumata-o-Teo Block, Block V, Clyde Survey District; Sections 33, 34, 35, 36, 42, 72, 71, 69, 70, of Subdivision No. 6, Orangitirohia Block, Orangitirohia No. 6 Block, Block II, Clyde Survey District; the strip of land or road situated between Subdivision No. 2, Awatere Block, Block II, Clyde Survey District, and the Wairoa River; and Lot 1 of Subdivision No. 2, Awatere Block, Block II, Clyde Survey District; and terminating at a point on the right bank of the Awatere Creek marked 1 mile 51·361 chains: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay. As the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 44741, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

As
