to their groups or units. Should a question of discipline or
efficiency be involved, the case shall immediately be reported
to the O.C. District.”

  1. After paragraph 83 add the following paragraph:—
    “83A. A Group or Unit Quartermaster-Sergeant will be
    liable to be reposted at any time to the N.Z. Army Ordnance
    Corps should he be found unfit for the position of Group
    or Unit Accountant, or should he be reduced in rank on
    account of misconduct or inefficiency. He will, if so reposted,
    revert to the ordinary duties of his rank in the N.Z.A.O.C.,
    remaining supernumerary until absorbed into the first vacant
    appointment.”

  2. Paragraph 170 is hereby amended by deleting that part
    of the paragraph following the words “Reserve List” in the
    third line, and substituting the following:—
    “He will hand in his arms, accoutrements, and uniform
    clothing. Should he change his place of residence to another
    group or area he may be transferred to the Reserve List of a
    unit in that group or area.”

  3. Paragraph 350 is amended by adding the following
    sentence at the end of the paragraph:—
    “The C.O., before sanctioning the issue on loan of any
    Government property, will comply with paragraph 58 and
    Section V, Subsection III, N.Z. Ordnance Regulations.

  4. After paragraph 350 add the following:—
    “350A. Security of Stores.—For each Territorial group or
    unit store there shall be two keys, one of which shall be
    known as the duplicate key, which shall be retained in
    the possession of the Group or Unit Commander, and shall
    be used by him only in cases of emergency. The other key
    shall be retained in the possession of the Group or Unit
    Accountant, who is the person responsible to the Group
    or Unit Commander for the issue and receipt of clothing,
    arms, equipment, office furniture, and training and range
    equipment on issue to groups and units respectively. During
    the absence of the Group or Unit Accountant no transaction
    shall be permitted except under the provisions laid down
    in paragraph 442 of these regulations.”

  5. Paragraph 442 is amended by adding the following at
    the end of the paragraph:—
    “Application for leave of absence by Group or Unit
    Accountants will, in the first instance, be submitted to the
    Group of Unit Commander under whom the Accountant is
    immediately serving. If recommended, the O.C. Group or
    Unit will endorse the application, stating definitely the
    arrangements made for the care, custody, and accounting of
    public property during the absence of the Accountant; the
    application will then be forwarded to the A.Q.M.G. of the
    district, who will, previous to recommending leave to the
    O.C. District, satisfy himself that the arrangements made
    for the performance of the above duties during the absence
    of the Accountant are satisfactory.”

Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers on
Active Service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the appointments, promotions, and
transfers of the undermentioned officers on active service
with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, vide List No. 70, N.Z.E.F.
Orders.

AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant A. B. Moore performed the duties of Adjutant,
N.Z. Training Units and Depot in Egypt, vice Lieutenant
(Acting Captain) K. L. Stewart, N.Z.S.C., from 10th
December, 1917, to 17th December, 1917, inclusive.

CANTERBURY MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain D. E. G. Cardale, having been declared by a Medical
Board to be unfit for general service within twelve months,
relinquishes the appointment of Permanent Instructor,
N.Z. Training Units and Depot in Egypt, but remains
seconded under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 34.
Dated 11th May, 1918.

Major R. T. Bruce, from G.S.O., 3rd Grade, of a British for-
mation, remains seconded whilst employed as Brigade
Major of a British infantry brigade. Dated 25th February,
1918.

Lieutenant D. B. Murchison, M.C., performed the duties of
Adjutant, N.Z. Training Units and Depot in Egypt, vice
Lieutenant (Acting Captain) K. L. Stewart, N.Z.S.C.,
from 20th November, 1917, to 9th December, 1917,
inclusive.

Memorandum.

Captain J. S. Barker performed the duties of D.A.A.G.,
N.Z.E.F. in Egypt, and A.D.C. to G.O.C., A. and N.Z.
Mounted Division, vice Captain A. E. T. Rhodes, to Eng-
land on duty, from 8th March, 1918, to 22nd May, 1918,
inclusive.

WELLINGTON MOUNTED RIFLES.

Major A. S. Wilder, M.C., is seconded for duty as Com-
mandant, Desert Mounted Corps Rest Camp, Port Said.
