HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council made on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, the land described in the Schedule hereto became vested in His Majesty under the provisions of section thirty-one of the Valuation of Land Act, 1908 :
And whereas it is provided by subsection three of section thirty-three of the Valuation of Land Act, 1908, that any land acquired on behalf of His Majesty under the said Act may be sold and disposed of in such manner as the Governor-General in Council directs :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirty-three, subsection three, of the Valuation of Land Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, doth hereby direct that the said land described in the Schedule hereto shall be Crown land subject to and dealt with under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
RURAL Section 22014, Block IV, Alford Survey District, Canterbury Land District, containing an area of 20 acres, being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 130, folio 274.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Carleton Domain.

At the Government House at Wellington, this seventeenth day of September, 1918.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain :
And whereas by an Order in Council made on the third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Carleton Domain :
And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen :
And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

as from the twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, to be the Carleton Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act ; and doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Carleton Hall as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
CARLETON DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 2808 (in red), Block V, Mairaki Survey District. Bounded northward by a line parallel to the road north of Section No. 4643, and 1250 links distant therefrom, 1000 links; eastward, southward, and westward by Section No. 15239, distances respectively of 750 links, 1000 links, and 750 links.
Also all that area in Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Reserve No. 2858 (in red), Block V, Mairaki Survey District. Bounded northward by a line parallel to the road north of Section No. 4643, and 555·6 links distant therefrom, 900 links; eastward by a right-of-way, 694·4 links; southward by Reserve No. 2808, 900 links; and westward by Section No. 15239, 694·4 links.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same are delineated on the plan marked L. 1068, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this seventeenth day of September, 1918
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor-General in Council :
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and clause (b) of subsection one of section thirteen of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor-General by Order in Council thinks fit to impose, and may refer to one or both sides of the road or street :
And whereas the Christchurch City Council, the local authority having control of the street described in the Schedule hereto, has passed the following resolution—viz., “The Christchurch City Council, being the local authority having control of Hendon Street, in the City of Christchurch, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the south side of the said street” :
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and
