CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 16 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Counties Act, 1908, and the amendment thereof, and any other Acts it enabling, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Mangaoapa Special Rating Area, as testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of the said special rating area the capital value of whose properties as appearing on the valuation roll of the said district is collectively greater than the capital values of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Clifton County Council hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the said Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the formation and bridging of the Manga-oapa Road, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny (3/16d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the said Mangaoapa Special Rating Area, comprising Section 1, Block II; Section 3, Block II; part Section 8, Block I; Section 9, Block I; Section 5, Block II; Sections 18 and 19, Block II; Sections 5 and 6, Purangi Township; Sections 4, 10, 40, and part Sections 41, 42, 43, and 45, Blocks I and II; Sections 9, 17, 31, 32, 35/38, Block II; Sections 1, 12/14, 29/30, Blocks I and II; part Subdivision 2 of Section 5, Block I; Sections 6, 7, 21, Block II; Section 19, Block V; Sections 11/12, 22, 25, Block V; Sections 22/3, 29, 37/40; 42, 44/5, Block VI; Sections 5 and 6, Allotment 1 of Section 7, Block I; Sections 7 and 8, Block II; all situated in the Ngatimaru Survey District.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908, and its amendments, at a meeting of the Clifton County Council held on Friday, the 2nd day of August, 1918.

THE COMPANIES ACT, 1908.

In the matter of the WESTLAND SHIPPING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at its office, Revell Street, Hokitika, on Saturday, the 31st day of August, 1918, the following special resolutions were duly passed:—

  1. That the Westland Shipping Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily.

  2. That a Liquidator be appointed to wind up the affairs of the said company.

  3. That Mr. RICHARD WILD be appointed Liquidator.

AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.

EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 27TH DAY OF JULY, 1918.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Awakino County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Te Kuiti-

Piopio Road Loan, £2,950, 1918, authorized to be raised by the Awakino County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening, reforming and remetalling, and generally improving portion of the Te Kuiti- Awakino Road between Te Kuiti and Piopio, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Puketiti-Mahoenui Special Rating Area; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Awakino County Council was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Awakino County Council, in the presence of—

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Bruce County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500 (five hundred pounds), authorized to be raised by the Bruce County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the drainage of the Boundry Creek Swamp, the said Bruce County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-third in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special rating area hereinafter described; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of September in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

SPECIAL RATING AREA.

Sections 1 and 2, part of Section 3, Sections 5, 6, 7, parts of Sections 32, 33, 34, and 35, Block VII, Clarendon Survey District; parts of Sections 1 and 6 and Sections 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block XVI, and Sections 8 and 9, Block XVII, Waihola Survey District: Commencing on the south-west boundary of Section 33, Block VII, Clarendon Survey District, and bounded thence toward the east by Lake Waipori and a road-line to the south-east corner of the northern half of Section 1, Block XVI aforesaid; thence towards the south by the southern half of the said Section 1, Block XVI, and by the southern boundaries of Section 8, Block XVII, and Section 7, Block VII aforesaid; towards the west and north-west by the western boundaries of the northern half of Section 1 and Sections 2 and 3, Block XVI aforesaid, and Sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 2, 35, and 32, Block VII aforesaid; and towards the north by the northern boundaries of Section 32 aforesaid; and towards the north-east by a road-line.

I, Thomas Scott, Chairman of the Bruce County Council, hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 6th day of August, 1918.
