Appointing Public Places in the Ohai Railway District for Deposit of Plan and Book of Reference under the Local Railways Act, 1914.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section fifty-one, subsection one, of the Local Railways Act, 1914, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the deposit of the plan setting forth the middle-line and direction of the Wairoa to Ohai Railway, and of the book of reference showing the lands required to be taken for the same, and the names of the owners and occupiers of such lands so far as the same can be ascertained.
SCHEDULE.
- Office of the Ohai Railway Board at Moretown.
- Office of the Clerk to the Ohai Railway Board at Otatau.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twelfth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Notice exempting certain Lands from the Operation of Part II of the Coal-mines Act, 1908.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Coal-mines Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the lands referred to and described in the First Schedule hereto, excepting all that portion described in the Second Schedule hereto, from the operation of Part II of the Coal-mines Act, 1908; and I do also direct that the lands so exempted shall be dealt with under the provisions of the Westland and Nelson Coalfields Administration Act, 1877, and the amendments thereof.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LANDS EXEMPTED.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 884 acres, more or less, situated in Block XV, Mokihinui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by a right line from the south-western corner of the said Block XV to the western corner of Section No. 8 of the said Block XV; thence towards the south-east by the said Section No. 8 to the southern boundary-line of Mokihinui Survey District; and thence towards the south by the said southern boundary-line to the place of commencement: excluding the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto.
Also all that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 3,821 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks II and III, Ngakawau Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the northern boundary of the said Block III from the north-western corner of that block to the north-western corner of Section No. 8, Block III aforesaid; thence towards the south-east by a right line through Trig. Station AN to the Ngakawau River; thence towards the south generally by the Ngakawau River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 97, Town of Hector; thence towards the south-west by a right line to the eastern-most corner of the said Section No. 97; thence by that section to its northernmost corner; thence towards the north-west by Section No. 2, Block II aforesaid, to its north-eastern corner; and thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Block III aforesaid, the place of commencement.
As the same are delineated on the plan marked Mines 1909/519, deposited in the Head Office, Mines Department, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
LANDS NOT EXEMPTED.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 178 acres 3 roods 27 perches, more or less, situated in Block XV, Mokihinui Survey District. Bounded by a right line commencing at Trig. H, thence bearing 212° 15′ for a distance of 5215 links; thence by a right line bearing 128° 50′ for a distance of 1600 links; thence by a right line to the south-east corner peg of the Library Reserve,
Section 19, Township of Seddonville; and thence by a right line to Trig. H, the place of commencement.
As the same is delineated on the plan marked Mines 1917/766, deposited at the Head Office, Mines Department, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
