Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Levin Borough Council.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as "the said
Act"), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic
reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved
under the said Act) in the Levin Borough Council, subject
to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:
-
The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby
vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the
reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said
Act. -
The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending
on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of
receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve.
Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister
charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as
possible after the close of the year. -
The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations
made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
WAIOPENU SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 22 acres 2 roods, more or less, being
Section 43 and part of Section 44, Block II, Waiophehu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Horowhenua
East Road from the easternmost corner of Section 41 to
Koputuroa Road; thence towards the south-east by Koputuroa Road, 594-3 links; thence towards the south-west by
a right line bearing 299Β° 13' 47", distance 1009-6 links;
thence again towards the south-east and south-west by the
other part of Section 44; and towards the north-west by
Section 41 to Horowhenua East Road, the place of commencement: be all the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
l/553, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
