Rangitaiki Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, bounded commencing at a point on the left bank of the mouth of the Rangitaiki River diversion, Block V, Awa-o-te-Atua Survey District; thence in an easterly direction along the high-water mark of the Bay of Plenty to the north-west corner of Allotment 28, Parish of Rangitaiki; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Allotment 28 aforesaid and Allotments 29, 30, 38, 31, 32, 33, and 41, Rangitaiki Parish, to the confiscation boundary-line at the south-western corner of Allotment 41 aforesaid; thence easterly along the confiscation boundary-line to its intersection with the Waimana Survey District boundary-line; thence south along the west boundaries of the Waimana Survey District aforesaid and the Uriwera, Ruatahuna, and part of the west boundary of the Waikaremoana West Survey Districts to its intersection with the southern boundary of Whakatane County; thence south-westerly by the aforesaid southern boundary of Whakatane County; thence north-easterly along the west boundary of Whakatane County aforesaid to Trig. Station 2120, “Tawhiuau”; thence westerly along the Whakatane County boundary aforesaid to the south-eastern corner of the Tarawera Riding; thence northerly generally by the aforescribed eastern boundary of the Tarawera Riding to the point of commencement.

Omataroa Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, bounded towards the north generally by the high-water mark of the Bay of Plenty, commencing at the north-west corner of Allotment 28, Parish of Rangitaiki; thence in an easterly direction along said high-water mark to a point on the left bank at the mouth of the Whakatane River; thence generally in a southerly direction along the left bank of the Whakatane River to the south-east corner of Allotment 32, Rangitaiki Parish; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Allotment 32 aforesaid to its south-west corner; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of aforescribed Rangitaiki Riding to point of commencement.

Taneatua Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, bounded commencing at a point on the left bank at the mouth of the Whakatane River, being the north-east corner of the Omataroa Riding aforesaid; thence towards the north and east along the county boundary and high-water mark, Bay of Plenty, to boundary road between the Whakatane and Opotiki Counties in Block III, Whakatane Survey District; thence generally in a southerly direction along the said Whakatane County boundary road to the north-west corner of Allotment 141, Waimana Parish; thence southerly along the centre of county road on the west boundary of said Allotment 141 and west boundaries of the Allotments 143, 144, 145, and part western boundary of Allotment 146 to a point in line with the production of northern boundary-line of Allotment 313; thence by a line to the north-east corner of Allotment 313 aforesaid; thence west and south along the north and west boundaries of Allotment 313 aforesaid to its south-west corner; thence east to the north-east corner of Allotment 357; thence generally south along the eastern boundary of said Allotment 357 to its south-eastern corner; thence in a westerly direction to the south-west corner of Allotment 357 aforesaid; thence south to the south-east corner of Allotment 345A; thence west to the north-east corner of Allotment 322; thence south along east boundary of said Allotment 322 (all the above allotments being of Waimana Parish) till the line intersects the Waimana River, and that line produced across the said river; thence towards the west along the left bank of the Waimana River to its junction with the Whakatane River to a point on eastern boundary of the Omataroa Riding in Block IX, Whakatane Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the Omataroa Riding to the point of commencement, with the exception of that area of land gazetted as being included in the Whakatane Town District.

Opouriao Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, bounded commencing at the north-west corner of Allotment 33, Rangitaiki Parish; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the Omataroa Riding to the north-east corner of said Allotment 33; thence northerly along left bank of Whakatane River to the junction of the Omataroa and Taneatua Riding boundaries; thence along the southern boundary of the Taneatua Riding to the north-east corner of Section 14, Block XIII, Whakatane Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, Block XIII aforesaid, and Sections 4, 5, Block II, Waimana Survey District, to the confiscation boundary-line; thence in an easterly direction by said confiscation boundary-line to the north-west corner of Section 1, III, Waimana Settlement, a point on the west boundary of Block III, Waimana Survey District; thence south along the west boundary of Blocks III, VII,*XI, XV, Waimana Survey District, Blocks III, VII, XI, XV, Uriwera Survey District, Blocks III, VII, XI, XV, Ruatahuna Survey District, and Block III and part Block VII, Waikaremoana West Survey District, to its intersection with the southern boundary of Whakatane County; thence south-westerly along the said county boundary to the aforescribed Rangitaiki Riding; thence northerly along the east boundary of the said Rangitaiki Riding to the point of commencement.

Nukuhou Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, bounded commencing at the north-west corner of Allotment 141, Waimana Parish (Block VI, Whakatane Survey District); thence in a southerly direction along the Whakatane County boundary to its intersection with the right bank of the Waimana River; thence northerly along the right bank of said Waimana River to the junction of Lowe’s Road and the Taneatua–Waimana Road at the north end of the Waimana River Bridge, in Block III, Waimana Survey District; thence along the eastern side of the said Taneatua–Waimana Road to the confiscation boundary-line; thence westerly along said confiscation boundary-line to the south-west corner of Lot 8 of Allotment 307, Parish of Waimana; thence northerly to the north-west corner of said Lot 8; thence westerly to the south-west corner of Lot 16 of Allotment 307 aforesaid; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Lots 16 and 15 of Allotment 307 aforesaid to the north-west corner of Lot 15 aforesaid; thence easterly to the south-east corner of Allotment 329, Waimana Parish; thence northerly by the eastern boundaries of Allotments 329, 328, 317, 316 to the north-east corner of aforesaid Allotment 316, Waimana Parish; thence westerly to the north-west corner of aforesaid Allotment 316; thence northerly along the road to the north-east corner of Allotment 330, Waimana Parish; thence westerly to the north-west corner of Allotment 330 aforesaid at a point where it joins the eastern boundary of the Taneatua Riding; thence generally in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the Taneatua Riding aforescribed to the point of commencement.

Waimana Riding.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, bounded commencing at a point on the north-west corner of Allotment 330, Waimana Parish (Block X, Whakatane Survey District); thence east and south along the boundaries of the Nukuhou Riding to the point where the Whakatane County boundary meets the right bank of the Waimana River (on the east boundary of Block VII, Waimana Survey District); thence southerly along the Whakatane County boundary to Trig. Pukehuruhuru; thence south-westerly along the Whakatane County boundary to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Opouriao Riding aforescribed; thence northerly along said riding boundary and part of southern boundary of the Taneatua Riding to the point of commencement.

Certificate.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order which adjusts the representation in the Council of the Whakatane County, and also repeals all previous resolutions respecting riding boundaries, and in lieu thereof eight new ridings are made, and further declares that the Whakatane County Council shall consist of ten members, &c., has been duly made according to law.
