IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies (Consolidation) Act, 1908; and in the matter of the KOTUKU OILFIELDS SYNDICATE (LIMITED).

THE creditors of the above-named company are required, on or before the 1st day of August, 1917, to send in their names and addresses, and the particulars of their debts or claims to the undersigned, John William Woodthorpe, of Leadenhall Buildings, 1 Leadenhall Street, London. E.C., Chartered Accountant, the Liquidator of the said company; and, if so required by notice in writing from the said Liquidator, are to come in and prove their debts or claims at such time and place as shall be specified in such notice, or in default thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitomo County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely, the construction of a road through Kinohaku East 1B 4B No. 4, 1B 4B No. 3, 2A 2B. 2A 2C No. 2, and 1B 4B No. 6, and Kinohaku East No. 1F, Sections 23D and 24; and for the purpose of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate in Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti, and is open to inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice, to the said County Clerk at the Council Chambers aforesaid.

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £273, authorized to be raised by the Waitemata County Council, under section 18 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the construction and improvement generally of the roads in the Tiritangi Riding of the County of Waitemata, the said Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Tiritangi Riding of the County of Waitemata; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a minute of a meeting of the Waitemata County Council held on the 9th day of February, 1917.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and of the HAWKE’S BAY FRUIT PRODUCE AND COOL STORAGE COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the Hawke’s Bay Fruit Produce and Cool Storage Company (Limited) duly convened and held at the Oddfellows’ Hall situated in Market Street, Hastings, on Wednesday, the 16th day of May, 1917, at 2.30 p.m., the following extraordinary resolutions were carried unanimously:—

(a.) “That, in accordance with the provisions of section 220, subsection (c), of the Companies Act, 1908, it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

(b.) “That Mr. SOUTHCOtt be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of voluntarily winding up the Hawke’s Bay Fruit Produce and Cool Storage Company (Limited), with power to engage such clerical or other assistance at such remuneration as he shall think fit.”

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said parcels of land required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate at Ngaruawahia, and is open for inspection (without any fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of the said parcels of land, who may have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said parcels of land, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Clerk of the said county at the county offices at Ngaruawahia.

APPROXIMATE area of land required to be taken: 16 acres 1 rood 31 perches.

Being portion of block of land called Waipa No. 66B No. 3D.
