AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Awakino County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand eight hundred pounds, authorized to be raised by the Awakino County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the forming of and for widening, culverting, and metalling, in conjunction with the Waitomo County Council, that portion of the main Te Kuiti—Awakino Road between Piopio and the Ototohu Stream at Mahoenui, the said Awakino County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Mahoenui Special-rating Area, comprising the following sections:—
In the Maungamangero Survey District—east part of Section 1, Block XIII, and west part of Section 1, Block XIV. In the Awakino East Survey District—east part of Section 1, Block I; east portion of Section 3, Block I; south-east portion of Section 1, west portion of Section 2, west portion of Section 3, west portion of Section 4, all in Block II; and Section 1, Block III: and Karu-o-te-Whenua B No. 2B No. 5A part, B No. 2B Section 1 part, B No. 2B No. 6 part: and south portion of Kinohaku West A No. 1: and south portion of Puketiti No. 2A; and Puketiti No. 2B Section 1, No. 2B Section 2A, 2B Section 2B, No. 2B Section 2C, 2B Section 2D, No. 2B Section 2E, No. 2B Section 2F, No. 2B Section 3; and west portion of Puketiti No. 3A, east portion of Puketiti No. 3B 1, and west portion of Puketiti No. 3B 2A; and Puketiti part 3B Section 2C, part 3B 2B, part 3B 2D. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Awakino County Council held at Piopio on Saturday, the 5th day of May, 1917; and in witness thereof the common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Awakino was hereto affixed in the presence of—

MUTUAL STORES (LIMITED), HAMILTON.

THE following special resolution was this day passed in terms of subsection (6) of section 168 of the Companies Act, 1908:—
That it is hereby required that the Mutual Stores (Limited), a private company registered under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments, be wound up voluntarily; and that Mr. R. ENGLISH, of Hamilton, be appointed Liquidator thereof.

UAPOTO DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Uapoto Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £600, authorized to be raised by the Uapoto Drainage Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for making payment of the cost of piping the outlet tunnel and constructing new drains, the said Uapoto Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Uapoto Drainage Board, comprising the whole of the Uapoto Drainage District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Uapoto Drainage Board at a meeting held on 16th May, 1917.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the North Otago Jockey Club at a meeting held on the 15th day of May, 1917, at Oamaru, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. William Gardiner, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. William Gardiner, jun., the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. George Livingstone seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

NORTH OTAGO JOCKEY CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the North Otago Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Oamaru Racecourse Reserve situate in Block I, Oamaru Survey District, and known as the Oamaru Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meaning ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
    (a.) Bookmakers.
    (b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.
    (c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the North Otago Jockey Club were made and passed by the club on the fifteenth day of May, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.
