New Zealand Branch of the British Red Cross
Society and the Order of St. John; and
(ii.) The conditions of control and expenditure of the said
fund, as set out in the rules adopted by the said
association.

this twenty-eighth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

Special Regulations for Deer-shooting, Waitaki.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by Warrant dated the twenty-eighth day of
March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 56, of the
twenty-ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
seventeen, regulations (hereinafter termed “the said regula-
tions”) were made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908,
declaring that certain red deer in the Waitaki Acclimatization
District may be destroyed : And whereas it is deemed expedi-
ent to amend the said regulations :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in
me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, do hereby amend
the said regulations by repealing No. 4 thereof and substit-
tuting the following.
REGULATIONS.
4. The said Secretary may, with the authority of the said
society, authorize the sale, either by auction or otherwise,
during the currency of these regulations of deer destroyed
pursuant to these regulations, and of the meat and skins of
such deer ; provided that the proceeds derived from such
sale shall be devoted to patriotic purposes.
4A. The said Secretary shall, on or before the 31st day of
January, 1918, furnish a statement of the moneys received
from such sale and of the patriotic purpose or purposes to
which they were devoted.

this twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

Amending the Regulations for the Occupation of Pastoral
Lands within the Hauraki Mining District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section three of the Land Act, 1908, and by section
thirty-eight of the Mining Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de
Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby further amend, as set out in the
Schedule hereto, the regulations for the occupation of pastoral
lands in the Hauraki Mining District made by Warrant of
the twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand nine hundred
and thirteen, and published in the Gazette of the third day
of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.
SCHEDULE.
(a.) By deleting from clause 25 the words “during the whole
of the remainder of the term,” and substituting in lieu thereof
the words “for a period of ten years.”
(b.) By deleting the Schedule to the said regulations, and
substituting the following Schedule in lieu thereof:-

HAURAKI MINING DISTRICT.

I HEREBY apply for a license for pastoral land, under the
regulations for the occupation of pastoral lands, within the
Hauraki Mining District. Particulars of the land applied for
are given hereunder.

If a married woman judicially separated, please
state so. - Have you any family? If so, state the num-
ber and sex of your children now living with you,
and their ages. - What land do you hold or have an interest
in? Give particulars as to area and value of such
land, and say whether freehold, leasehold, or what
other tenure, specifying also what portion of it (if
any) is rural and what portion (if any) is town or
suburban land. If leasehold, what is the annual
rent and the unexpired term? - What land does your wife [or husband] hold
or have an interest in? Give particulars as above. - What means (including stock and agricultural
implements or machinery) do you possess for stock-
ing and cultivating the land, and erecting suitable
buildings thereon; and what is the total value
thereof? - Have you means sufficient, in your estimation, to enable you to profitably work the land and
fulfil the conditions of the license? If not, state
how you propose to do so. - Have you within the previous two years com-
peted unsuccessfully at any other land ballot ?
Give particulars, with dates. - Have you at any time been successful in any
land ballot? If so, state where, and give par-
ticulars—date, section, block, district, area, and
tenure. Have you disposed of this land? If so,
give particulars. - Give generally your experience in farming and
capability to take up and work an unimproved
section.

DECLARATION ON APPLICATION FOR PASTORAL LAND WITHIN
THE HAURAKI MINING DISTRICT.
I [Name in full], of [Residence], [Occupation], do solemnly
and sincerely declare,- - That I am of the age of seventeen years and upwards.
- That I am the person who, subject to the regulations
for the occupation of pastoral lands within the Hauraki
Mining District, is applying for a lease of the land above
described. - That I am applying for such license solely for my own
use and benefit, and not directly or indirectly for the use or
benefit of any other person or persons whatsoever. - That, including the land now applied for, I am not the
owner, holder, or occupier under any tenure of more than
one year’s duration, either severally or jointly or in common
with any other person or persons, of any land anywhere in
New Zealand exceeding in the whole 5,000 acres of land,
including not more than 1,000 acres of land held under
license for the occupation of pastoral lands within the Hau-
raki Mining District, such area of 5,000 acres to be computed
as follows:-
(a.) Every acre of first-class land is reckoned as 7½ acres;
(b.) Every acre of second-class land is reckoned as 2½ acres;
(c.) Every acre of third-class land is reckoned as 1 acre.
