Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of Portion of a
Travelling-stock Reserve in Mangaone Survey District,
Wellington Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms portion of a reserve heretofore duly set apart
as a resting-place for travelling stock, being a purpose within
Class II of the Second Schedule to the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908:
And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the portion
of the said reserve should be changed to a reserve for gravel
purposes:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, aforesaid, declare my intention to change
the purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the
Schedule hereto from a resting-place for travelling stock to
a reserve for gravel purposes.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 10 acres 0 roods 20 perches, more or less,
being Section 77 (formerly portion of Section 8), Block V,
Mangaone Survey District. Bounded towards the north-
east, east, and south generally by Section 8, 195 links, and
by a line along the middle of a stream and of the Ngatahaka
Stream; towards the west generally by Section 9, 510 and
178.9 links, and by North No. 1 Road, 725 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 6/5/44, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and
thereon bordered red.

this eighteenth day. of May, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries
Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liver-
pool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint

GEORGE MCCULLOUGH and
THOMAS HENRY JONES

to be trustees for the maintenance and care of the Mangapai
Public Cemetery, in the places of William Harrison, de-
ceased, and Boulton Ormandy, resigned, to act in conjunction
with William McAllister, George Gunson, Samuel Graham,
Francis Sloane, Frank Hilford, William George Hill, Samuel
George Gunson, and William Thomas Weir, previously
appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries
Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liver-
pool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint

SAMUEL CROKER and
THOMAS SMITH

to be trustees, in the place of James Edward Matthew, John
Armour, and George Cruickshank, deceased, to provide for the
maintenance and care of the Matakana Public Cemetery, in
conjunction with Evan Richards, Robert Williams, and
Kirkwood Campbell, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and seventeen.

Opening Lands in Wellington Land District for Sale or
Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of
the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report
of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section
one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twenty-fifth
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen; and
also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
able lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the
said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands
shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

These sections are situated in the Gladstone Block, in the
vicinity of Pokako Railway-station, on the Main Trunk
Railway, about three miles north of Horopito West Town-
ship. With the exception of Sections, 2, 3, and 4, which
have access by the Mangaturuturu Road which is formed, all
front the Main Trunk Road. They comprise bush lands, at
an altitude of about 2,600 ft. above sea-level. About 40 acres
on Section 2 and about 20 acres on Section 7 were felled
some years ago, and areas have been felled and grassed on
other sections as follows: On Section 3, about 15 acres; on
Section 4, about 15 acres; on Section 5, about 24 acres; and
on Section 13, about 8 acres. The forest comprises tawhero
for the most part, with some rimu, silver-pine, &c.
