Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, and not required
for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the Public
Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any land
held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this
or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise how-
soever, for any public work is not required for such public
work the Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly
notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the
conditions therein mentioned:
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any
land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work
and not required for that purpose the Governor may, on the
recommendation of the Minister, and without complying
with any other requirements of the aforesaid section thirty,
by Proclamation declare such land to be Crown land subject
to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon the land may be ad-
ministered and disposed of under that Act accordingly:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was
taken for the purposes of roads: And whereas such roads
have been stopped, and it is desirable to declare the land
contained therein to be Crown land:
And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister
has recommended the Governor to declare such land to be
Crown land:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-recited
Acts, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this
behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool,
the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown
land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that such land may
be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly.

thereon coloured green.

Land taken for the Purposes of a Post-office in Block IV,
Upper Kaikorai District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken, under the Public Works Act,
1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of
a post-office in Block IV, Upper Kaikorai District:
And whereas all the conditions precedent required by
law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of
such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been
observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other
power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the
said post-office; and I do also hereby declare that this Pro-
clamation shall take effect on and after the nineteenth day of
May, one thousand nin: hundred and seventeen.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 0.62 perch.
Portion of Allotment 22, Section 24, Kaikorai Township
(City of Dunedin), Block IV, Upper Kaikorai District.
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42045,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken, under the Public Works
Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), for a
certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a drill-
shed in Block V, Takahue Survey District:
And whereas by section eighty-eight of the Defence Act,
1909, it is enacted that the Governor may take land for the
purposes of drill-sheds:
And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law
to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such
land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been ob-
served and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908,
and the Defence Act, 1909, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said drill-
shed; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take
effect on and after the nineteenth day of May, one thousand
nine hundred and seventeen.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 1 acre 1 rood
5 perches.
Portion of Church Mission Estate at Kaitaia, Block V,
Takahue Survey District (S.O. 19318).
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41710,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured edged pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
