on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has
been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the
authority of the said Act, the Governor may issue a Pro-
clamation that such land has become Crown land :
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the
Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of
the Crown under the authority of the said Act:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and
seventy-four of the said Act, and by section fourteen of the
Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Arthur William
de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land set
out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land.
SCHEDULE.
WHARAWHARA No. 4 Block: Approximate area, 189 acres
1 rood 27 perchcs; Mangatoro Survey District.

Amending a Proclamation proclaiming Land as a Road, and
Road closed, in Block VII, Waikaka Survey District, South-
land County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section five of the Land Act, 1908, it is
provided that every Proclamation, Order in Council,
and other instrument, whether made under or by virtue of that
Act or of any former Land Act, and all regulations, by-laws,
conditions, or rules made by the Governor, the Minister, or
any Land Board, may be altered, amended, or revoked from
time to time:
And whereas it is necessary to amend a Proclamation
issued under the said Act, proclaiming land as a road and
road closed in Waikaka Survey District, dated the twenty-
eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of
the following month, and hereinafter referred to as “the said
Proclamation”:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in
me by the said Act, do hereby amend the said Proclamation
as follows—namely, by inserting the following Schedules in
the said Proclamation in lieu of the Schedules mentioned
therein, which are hereby revoked.
FIRST SCHEDULE.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the
Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any
land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under
this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise
howsoever, for any public work is not required for such
public work the Governor may, by an Order in Council
publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold
under the conditions therein mentioned:
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of
any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government
work and not required for that purpose the Governor
may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without
complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid
section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be
Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon
the land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was purchased for the purposes of an automatic telephone
exchange: And whereas such land is not now required for
the purposes for which it was purchased, and it is desirable
to declare such land to be Crown land:
And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister
has recommended the Governor to declare such land to be
Crown land:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-
recited Acts, and of all other powers in anyway enabling
me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto
to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that
such land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared to be Crown
land : O·62 perch.
Portion of Allotment 23, Section 24, Kaikorai Township
(City of Dunedin), Block IV, Upper Kaikorai District.
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42045,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
