Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Te Aroha and the
Counties of Ohinemuri and Piako.

Pursuant to the provisions of section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Borough of Te Aroha are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by an Order in Council dated the 12th day of March, 1917, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, as amended by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of the 15th day of March, 1917.
And also, in pursuance of the said section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Counties of Ohinemuri and Piako affected by the said Order in Council dated the 12th day of March, 1917, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF TE AROHA.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block IX, Aroha Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waihou River in line with the north-western side of the road between Section 13 and Te Aroha Borough Endowment, thence to and along the north-western side of that road to and along the north-eastern side of Stanley Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 65, Block IX aforesaid, across the said road and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 65, 66, and 67, the south-western boundary of the said Section 67, and that boundary produced across a road and railway reserve to the easternmost corner of Section 77, along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, and 82, across a road, along the northern boundary of Section 9 and the eastern boundary of Section 6 to its north-eastern corner; thence along the southern side of a road to and across Stanley Road, along the north-eastern side of that road to and along the south-eastern side of the road forming the north-western boundary of Lot 5 of Section 12 to a landing reserve, along part of the south-western boundary of that reserve, along its south-eastern boundary and that boundary produced to the middle of the Waihou River, along the middle of that river to a point due west of the southernmost corner of Lot 5, Te Ruakaka Block; thence due east 3,000 links; thence due north to a point due west of the south-western corner of Lot 2 of the said Te Ruakaka Block; thence due east and across the railway to the said south-western corner and northward along the railway to Section 31, Block IX, aforesaid, along the southern boundary of that section to and across the Thames–Te Aroha Road and along the southern side of Tui Road to Section 117, along the western and northern boundaries of that section and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the boundary between Blocks IX and X, Aroha Survey District; thence along the boundary between the said Blocks IX and X to the easternmost corner of Section 14H and along the south-eastern boundary of that section to the Haeanga Stream; thence to and along the middle of that stream to the Waihou River, and to and along the middle of that river to the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF OHINEMURI.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east by the sea from the mouth of the Otahu River to the mouth of the Waihi River; thence towards the south-east by a right line to the summit of Te Aroha Mountain; thence towards the south by a right line running due west to the eastern boundary of the Borough of Te Aroha; thence by that borough to a point on its western boundary due west of the summit of Te Aroha Mountain; thence by a line due west to the eastern boundary of Waikato County; thence towards the west generally by that county to a point due west of the confluence of the Hikutaia River with the Waihou River; and thence towards the north by a right line to the confluence of the said rivers, and a line along the middle of the said Hikutaia River to the source of that river nearest to the source of the Otahu River, a right line to the source of the said Otahu River, and a line along the middle of that river to the sea, the place of commencement: excluding the Boroughs of Waihi and Paeroa.
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF PIAKO.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north by Ohinemuri County hereinbefore described from the eastern boundary of Waikato County to the Borough of Te Aroha, by that borough and again by Ohinemuri County to the westernmost corner of Tauranga County; towards the north-east by Tauranga County; towards the south-east by Matamata County; and towards the south-west by Waikato County to the south-western corner of Ohinemuri County, the place of commencement: excepting the Morrinsville Town District.

Result of Election of a Member of the Tauranga Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

THE following result of the election of a member of the Tauranga Fire Board by fire-insurance companies has been reported to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and is notified in accordance with the rules made under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.

Notifying Land in the Hawke's Bay Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.
Office of Board of Land Purchase Commissioners,
Wellington, 30th April, 1917.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Watea Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 31st March, 1917.
SCHEDULE.
WATEA SETTLEMENT.
All that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement a total of 1,574 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, being Sections 1s to 9s, Watea Settlement, as shown on plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier as No. 3356, and being part of Block 120, Ruataniwha Crown-grant District, situated in Block XVI, Ruataniwha Survey District, Block XIII, Waipukurau Survey District, and Block IV, Takapau Survey District. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/46, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notifying Land in the Otago Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Hilderthorpe Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 29th March, 1916.
SCHEDULE.
HILDERTHORPE SETTLEMENT.
All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 683 acres 3 roods 6 perches, more or less, being Sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, Block V, Papakaio District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by Sections 18, 19, 20, and 21 of same block, 7998·1 links, and a public road, 50 links; towards the west by a public road, 3995·7 links; again towards the north by a public road, 7009·1 links; towards the south-east by right lines 29° 53', 4940·8 links, 36° 11', 4590·5 links; towards the south by a public road, 9881·3 links; and again towards the west by a public road, 3998·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: and excepting from the aforesaid boundaries four road-lines each 50 links wide, a deduction for which has been made from the area. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/15, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged with red.
