Arrangements for First Election, &c., Roto-o-rangi Road District.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

ELISHA VEALE, of Cambridge,

to be the Returning Officer and the person to prepare roll of ratepayers for the purposes of the first election of the four members of the Board of the Roto-o-rangi Road District, as constituted under section 27 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act of 1916; also to appoint Wednesday, the 9th day of May, 1917, to be the day, and Mr. J. M. Hall’s cottage, on the Mangapiko Deviation Road, to be the place, at which such first election shall be held; also to appoint Saturday, the 12th day of May, 1917, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, to be the time, and the Farmers’ Club Room, Cambridge, to be the place, at which the first meeting of the members of the Board so elected shall be held.

Empire Day to be observed as a Holiday on King’s Birthday.

Notice respecting Proposed Town District, Waikumete, County of Waitemata.

Wellington, 24th April, 1917.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under the said Act, by name the Town District of Waikumete. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said town district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
