Situated three miles and a half from Kapuka by gravelled road. Greater part of section is sound and dry; poor soil; suitable for grazing.

New River Hundred.

Sections 5B and 6B, Block IV: Area, 178 acres 1 rood 16 perches; upset price, £45.
Situated three miles from Ryal Bush Railway-station. Access by good gravelled road to within one mile and a quarter, balance unformed. Inferior land, very wet and peaty.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eighteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Vesting the Control of Reserves in the New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby extend the period for which the control of the reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being lands reserved under the said Act) was vested in the New Plymouth Scenic Reserves Board as constituted by notification dated the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and published in the Gazette of the eighteenth day of that month, for three years from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, to the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, subject to the trusts and conditions expressed in the said notification.


SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.

Pukemiro Scenic Reserve.

ALL that area, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods 18 perches, more or less, being part of Section 7, Block III, Waitara Survey District, taken for scenery-preservation purposes by Proclamation published in Gazette No. 23, of the 25th March, 1909, page 832.

Onairo River Scenic Reserve.

All that area, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 0 roods 30 perches, more or less, being part of Section 102, Block VII, Waitara Survey District, taken for scenery-preservation purposes by Proclamation published in Gazette No. 75, of the 30th August, 1906, page 2288.

Also all that area, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 26 perches, more or less, being part of Section 101, Block VII, Waitara Survey District, taken for scenery-preservation purposes by Proclamation published in Gazette No. 75, of the 30th August, 1906, page 2298.

Ratapihipihi Scenic Reserve.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Subdivision 1 of part of Native Reserve 5, Omata District (Ratapihipihi), Block VIII, Paritutu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by other part of Native Reserve 5, Omata District, 1973 links; towards the north-east by part Section 477, Grey District, the abutment of a road, and again by part of Section 477 aforesaid, 2528·8 links; towards the south-east by Section 48, Omata District, 1972 links; and towards the south-west by the other part of Native Reserve 5, Omata District, 2539·2 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Puketi Pa Scenic Reserve.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Reserve Y, New Plymouth Town Belt. Bounded towards the north by cemetery reserve, 428·4 links; towards the east generally by the Henui Stream, 3500 links; towards the south by Subdivision 7 of E, Fitzroy District, New Plymouth Town Belt, 34·5 links; and towards the west by part F, 73·25 links, and by the other part of F, 165·55 links, Fitzroy District, New Plymouth Town Belt: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Pukerangiora Pa.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 36 acres, more or less, and being part of Section 179, Huirangi District, situated in Block IX, Waitara Survey District, taken for scenery-preservation purposes by Proclamation published in Gazette No. 77, of the 28th September, 1911, page 2907.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Warrant apportioning the Annual Payments of Interest and other Charges in respect of certain Loans originally raised by the Patea County Council between the Waitotara and Patea County Councils.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by section seventy-three of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, it is, inter alia, provided that where part only of any area over which a special rate is made as security for a loan is merged or included within the district of a local authority other than the local authority that made the rate, then the whole of the liability in respect of the loan shall continue to be a liability of the local authority that raised the loan, but the Governor may, upon the written application of that local authority, by Warrant under his hand, direct that any local authority in whose district part of such area has been merged or included shall pay annually to the first-mentioned local authority during the currency of the loan, on such date as is specified, such amount as he considers a duly proportionate part of the interest and other charges in respect of the loan:

And whereas parts of the areas over which the special loans of two thousand one hundred and eighty-three pounds eighteen shillings and eightpence to build Whenuakura Bridge, and four thousand seven hundred and sixteen pounds two shillings and fourpence to build Patea Bridge, were raised by the Patea County Council have been merged or included in the County of Waitotara:

And whereas it has been mutually agreed between the Waitotara and Patea County Councils that the amount of one pound two shillings and eightpence in respect of the Whenuakura Bridge Loan, and two pounds eight shillings and elevenpence in respect of the Patea Bridge Loan, shall be paid annually by the first-mentioned local authority to the Patea County Council as its duly proportionate part of the interest and other charges in respect of the said loans:

And whereas written application has been made by the Patea County Council to direct accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section seventy-three of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, do hereby direct that the Waitotara County Council shall in respect of the loans above mentioned pay annually to the Patea County Council, on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of the said loans, the above-mentioned amounts of one pound two shillings and eightpence and two pounds eight shillings and elevenpence as its duly proportionate part of the interest and other charges payable in respect of the said loans respectively.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.


PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
