Appointing a Member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS it is provided by the eleventh section of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that if any constituent district or combined district fails at any election to elect the required number of representatives the Governor may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint such qualified persons as he thinks fit to be the representatives of that district in lieu of those who ought to have been elected; and the persons so appointed shall hold office in all respects as if they had been duly elected in conformity with the said Act:
And whereas a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board should have been elected by the electors of the combined district of the Boroughs of New Brighton, Sumner, Woolston, Lyttelton, and Akaroa, and the Counties of Akaroa, Wairewa, and Mount Herbert, on the twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen: And whereas no member was elected by the electors of such combined district:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint
JOHN JAMES GRAHAM
to be a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board as the representative of the electors of the hereinbefore-mentioned combined district.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Appointing a Member of the Otago Harbour Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.

And whereas five members of the Otago Harbour Board should have been elected by the electors of the Borough of St. Kilda and of the City of Dunedin, in which have been merged the Boroughs of Maori Hill, Roslyn, and Mornington, and the Bay Town District: And whereas, as only four members were nominated for election and declared duly elected, the combined district of the Borough of St. Kilda and the City of Dunedin failed to elect the required number of representatives:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint

to be a member of the Otago Harbour Board as a representative of the electors of the Borough of St. Kilda and of the City of Dunedin, in which have been merged the Boroughs of Maori Hill, Roslyn, and Mornington, and the Bay Town District, to fill the vacancy caused by the before-mentioned failure to elect.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Regulations made under the Census and Statistics Act, 1910.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing additional matter in regard to which the Statistician shall collect statistics.
REGULATIONS.

In addition to the matters specified in paragraphs (a) to (j) of section 21 of the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, and in regulations heretofore made under that Act, the Statistician shall, subject to that section, collect statistics in regard to stocks of coal.

Every owner of premises where coal is usually or at the 30th April, 1917, held in stocks of five tons or over, whether for use on the premises or for sale shall, on request and within such time or times as he may be required by the Statistician so to do, furnish particulars as to such stocks held on such premises on a date or dates to be specified by the Statistician.

In order to comply with the last preceding regulation the owner of the premises shall fill in and supply to the Statistician or to any officer authorized by him in writing the particulars specified in the form set out in the Schedule hereto, in accordance with the instructions accompanying that form, and shall sign the form certifying to the correctness of the particulars entered therein.

In the two last preceding regulations “owner” includes the manager or other person for the time being in charge of any such premises.

Notifying Lands in Southland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Town of Waimatuku.—Suburban Land.
Section 1, Block II: Area, 2 roods 39 perches; upset price, £9.
Section 1, Block III: Area, 1 rood; upset price, £3 10s.
Section 25, Block III: Area, 1 rood; upset price, £3 10s.
Sections 14 and 15, Block IV: Area, 1 rood 39 perches; upset price, £7.
Section 2, Block XI: Area, 6 acres 1 rood 8 perches; upset price, £56.
Sections 25 and 26, Block XIII: Area, 2 roods; upset price, £4 10s.
Section 25, Block III, is weighted with £20, valuation for improvements. The land is level and of fair quality, and has been cultivated. It is suitable for cropping or dairying.
SOUTHLAND COUNTY.—RURAL LAND.
Nokomai Survey District.
Section 16, Block III: Area, 13 acres; upset price, £156. Situated one mile and a half from Athol Township by metalled and formed roads. The soil is rich river loam. Level river-flat, all in new grass; suitable for agricultural purposes. Time will be allowed the owner of the fencing on the section to remove same.
