Francis Oreti MacGibbon, M.R.C.S. Eng., L.R.C.P. Lond., is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 19th February, 1917.

Captain John William Crawshaw, M.B., B.S., is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 19th February, 1917.

Captain William Diamond, M.B., B.S., Glasg., Retired List, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 19th February, 1917.

William Ewart, M.B., B.S., Edin., F.R.C.S. Edin., is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 19th February, 1917.

Edward Kerr Edie, M.B., B.S., Uni. N.Z., is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst doing duty with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 19th February, 1917.

Captain William Gladstone Scannell is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed. Dated 10th March, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND DENTAL CORPS.

Lieutenant Raynor Colin Bell is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed. Dated 31st March, 1917.

Horace Edwin Suckling to be Lieutenant. Dated 23rd February, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The Reverend Neil Oliver White, Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class, is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed. Dated 24th March, 1917.

2nd Lieutenant Charles James Ashton (General List), is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed. Dated 25th March, 1917.

Lieutenant Alexander Mitchell Wighton, Reserve of Officers, relinquishes the appointment of Ship’s Quartermaster on the H.M.N.Z. Transport “Mokoia.” Dated 12th February, 1917.

Staff Sergeant-major (W.O.) Frederick William Kibblewhite to be Ship’s Quartermaster on H.M.N.Z. Transport “Mokoia,” and is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant temporarily whilst employed as a Ship’s Quartermaster. Dated 12th February, 1917.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery and Territorial Force :—

Honorary Lieutenant and Quartermaster Robert George Vining Parker, Artillery Store Accountant, to be Honorary Captain, with effect from 9th March, 1917.

QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S 2ND (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant William Richard Foley to be Lieutenant. Dated 5th March, 1917.

2nd Lieutenant Claude Albert Marchant is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Establishment, with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, dated 18th December, 1914, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 30, of 25th February, 1915. Dated 31st March, 1917.

8TH (SOUTH CANTERBURY) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Major Peter Jenkins Wain is appointed Musketry Instructor (temporarily) for the Canterbury Military District, with effect from 14th March, 1917.

9TH (WELLINGTON EAST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.

10TH (NELSON) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain James David Barnett is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Establishment, with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Captain, dated 1st June, 1910, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 107, of 15th December, 1910. Dated 31st March, 1917.

Lieutenant Ernest John William Freeth is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Reserve of Officers, with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, dated 1st May, 1913, vide New Zealand Gazette of 17th July, 1913. Dated 31st March, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Irvine Watson Cowie relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on being posted to the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 6th March, 1917.

4TH (OTAGO) REGIMENT.
