Staff Changes, Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers, New Zealand Staff Corps, Permanent Staff, and Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Permanent Staff and Territorial Force:—

DESIGNATION OF APPOINTMENTS AT HEADQUARTERS.

The appointments of Assistant Adjutant-General at Headquarters and Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General at Headquarters, under the Department of the Adjutant-General to the Forces, are hereby cancelled, with effect from the 27th February, 1917.

The following appointments at Headquarters, under the Department of the Adjutant-General to the Forces, are hereby instituted, with effect from the 27th February, 1917:—
Director of Personal Services (A.G. 1).
Director of Recruiting (A.G. 2).
Director of Organization (A.G. 3).

STAFF CHANGES.

Major James Osburne-Lilly, 17th (Ruahine) Regiment, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant-General at Headquarters, and is appointed Director of Personal Services (A.G. 1). Dated 27th February, 1917.

Captain (temp.) David Cecil Wallace Cossgrove, New Zealand Permanent Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General at Headquarters, is appointed Director of Recruiting (A.G. 2), and retains the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 27th February, 1917.

Captain Charles Eric Andrews, New Zealand Staff Corps, is appointed Director of Organization (A.G. 3), and is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 27th February, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND STAFF CORPS.

Major Charles Eric Andrews is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Establishment, with his previous rank and seniority therein—viz., Captain, dated 1st October, 1912, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 75, of 3rd October, 1912. Dated 27th February, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND PERMANENT STAFF.

Staff Sergeant-major (W.O.) Alfred Richard Hatt is appointed District Musketry Instructor, Auckland Military District, and is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant temporarily whilst so employed. Dated 20th February, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY.

2nd Lieutenant William John Baxter is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the Establishment, with the original rank of Lieutenant, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 56, of 17th July, 1913. Dated 24th March, 1917.

12TH (OTAGO) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant David Bell, from the Unattached List (b), to be Lieutenant. Dated 13th February, 1917.

CORPS OF NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.

New Zealand Post and Telegraph Corps (North Island).

Lieutenant Charles Joseph Walton Lockie to be Captain. Dated 13th February, 1917.

MOUNTED SIGNAL TROOPS (CANTERBURY).

John Charles Guinness to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), vice 2nd Lieutenant R. Guinness, on active service. Dated 1st March, 1917.

2ND (SOUTH CANTERBURY) REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant Llewellyn Gordon Wood is transferred to the 17th (Ruahine) Regiment. Dated 19th February, 1917.

7TH (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) REGIMENT.

Lieutenant John O'Donoghue, from the Unattached List (b), to be Lieutenant. Dated 14th December, 1916.

Lieutenant William Henry Cannan, from the Unattached List (b), to be Lieutenant. Dated 5th January, 1917.

17TH (RUAHINE) REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant Llewellyn Gordon Wood, from the 2nd South Canterbury Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 19th February, 1917.
