Major Edwin Harrowell, Reserve of Officers, 3rd (Auckland) Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), is appointed Assistant Military Secretary to the Administrator, Samoa. Dated 5th March, 1917.

ERRATUM.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 75, of 6th July, 1916, relative to 2/1878, Sergeant Maxwell Stanley (New Zealand Field Artillery) to be 2nd Lieutenant, for the words “Maxwell Stanley” read “John Maxwell Sunley.”

AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mahoenui Special-rating Area taken on the 28th day of February, 1917, on the proposal of the Awakino County Council to raise a loan of £710 for the purpose of repairing and renewing the Piopio–Mahoenui Road, as more fully described and on the terms and conditions stated in the public notice published in the King Country Chronicle newspaper on the 27th January and the 3rd, 10th, and 17th of February, 1917, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 27, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 20th March, 1917, to be the day for holding an election of one member of the Tauranga Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. C. I. McKean.
