Settlement Land set apart for Disposal by Way of Lease
to Discharged Soldiers, under Ordinary Tenures, in the
Canterbury Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon
me by section three of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of settlement
land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same
is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way
of lease to discharged soldiers, on ordinary tenures, under
the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—
MACKENZIE COUNTY.

SECTIONS 27592, 35749, 35721, 35668, and 13695: Area,
60 acres 2 roods 6 perches; Burke Survey District, Home-
stead site for Pastoral Run 244 (Paddy’s Market).

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of
December, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen.

me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liver-
pool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do

hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of
sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in
the manner provided in the said Act.

Resuming Land for Scenic Purposes in Block IV, Retaruke
Survey District, Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of
the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council
may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased
under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding
Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required
for any public purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land which is held under occupation-with-right-
of-purchase license from His Majesty the King under Part III
of the Land Act, 1892, dated the sixteenth day of August, one
thousand nine hundred and seven:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land
mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public
purpose—that is to say, for scenic purposes:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908,
and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare
that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the
