MEMORANDUM.

2nd Lieutenant (honorary Captain) James William Crampton relinquishes the appointment of Provost Marshal and Judge of the Native Court in Samoa. Dated 30th January, 1917.

2nd Lieutenant James William Crampton relinquishes the Honorary rank of Captain, granted temporarily whilst he acted as Provost Marshal and Judge of the Native Court in Samoa. Dated 30th January, 1917.

ERRATA.

The seniority of officers proceeding on active service with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, as shown in various Gazettes, is amended as hereunder:—

Gazette No. 60, of 22nd June, 1916.—Under the heading “Mounted Rifles,” after “2nd Lieutenant William Leonard Harrison,” read “with effect from 27th March, 1916,” and not “24th June, 1916.”

Gazette No. 89, of 17th August, 1916.—Under the heading “Infantry,” after “2nd Lieutenant Acland Withiel Thomas,” read “with effect from 15th March, 1916,” and not “16th August, 1916, with seniority next below Lieutenant Colin Bryce.”

Gazette No. 107, of 21st September, 1916.—Under the heading “Infantry,” after “2nd Lieutenant Ewen George Pilling,” read “with effect from 13th June, 1916,” and not “23rd September, 1916, with seniority next below Lieutenant Cyril Henry Molloy.”

he having a total service to the 7th December, 1916, entitling him thereto of twenty-one years one hundred and sixty-four days.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 26th February, 1917.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Thames, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Matatoke Road South Drain Special-rating Area, a special district duly constituted within the County of Thames, taken on the 8th day of February, 1917, on the proposal of the Thames County Council to borrow the sum of £500 for the purpose of making improvements to the Matatoke Road South Drain, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 27, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5.

I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Dated this 9th day of February, 1917.

THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Matatoke Road Special-rating Area, a special district duly constituted within the County of Thames, taken on the 8th day of February, 1917, on the proposal of the Thames County Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of reforming, metalling, and otherwise improving the Matatoke Road, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 10, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 26.

I therefore declare that the proposal was not carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Te Rapa Drainage Board’s No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 Areas was taken on the 22nd day of February, 1917, on the proposal of the Te Rapa Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £800 for the carrying-out of necessary drainage-works.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 12, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
