HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps and Territorial Force:—
NEW ZEALAND STAFF CORPS.
Major Walter Harry Meddings relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Quartermaster-General, Canterbury Military District. Dated 24th January, 1917.
Captain Robert Saxton Matthews relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant-General, Canterbury Military District. Dated 25th January, 1917.
Captain Robert Saxton Matthews is appointed Assistant Quartermaster-General, Canterbury Military District, and is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst so employed. Dated 25th January, 1917.
1st MOUNTED RIFLES (CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY).
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Thomas Firbank Gibson is confirmed.
NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant Charles Newey Mitchell, D Battery, is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst acting as Adjutant to the Wellington Field Artillery Brigade. Dated 17th November, 1916.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Archibald Arnold McLean, C Battery, is confirmed.
CORPS OF NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.
New Zealand Post and Telegraph Corps.
Sergeant George Walter Kite to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 1st August, 1915.
1ST (CANTERBURY) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant Dugald Macdonald Robertson is appointed Assistant Adjutant-General (temp.), Canterbury Military District, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 25th January, 1917.
7TH (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant Alan Arnold Barton to be Lieutenant. Dated 9th February, 1917.
13TH (NORTH CANTERBURY AND WESTLAND) REGIMENT.
Company Sergeant-major William Shilton Shilton to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 8th February, 1917.
John Finlaison Sutherland to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 8th February, 1917.
14TH (SOUTH OTAGO) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant Robert Lorimer McLatchie, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant. Dated 8th February, 1917.
2nd Lieutenant Howard W. Boddy is transferred to the Unattached List (b). Dated 8th February, 1917.
NEW ZEALAND ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) are confirmed, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913:—

NEW ZEALAND FORCES MOTOR SERVICE CORPS.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Clement Charles Scott is confirmed.
NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.
Major Henry O’Brien Deck is appointed a member of a special District Medical Board, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 12th January, 1917.
James Robert Boyd to be Captain. Dated 14th October, 1915.
Captain George Basil Doyne Adams, M.D., M.R.C.S., Eng., is struck off the strength on account of ill health. Dated 27th May, 1916.
Warren Hastings Young to be Lieutenant (temp.) whilst doing duty with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 25th January, 1917.
NEW ZEALAND CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
David Angus Gunn, Salvation Army Chaplain (Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class), resigns his commission. Dated 23rd December, 1916.
