Suspending the Operation of Portion of Section 2 of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is (inter alia) provided by subsection five of section two of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, that every application for examination as a motorman shall be accompanied by a certificate signed by the manager of some electric tramway that the applicant has served as a conductor on an electric tramway in New Zealand for a period of not less than one year and has undergone a course of training for a period of not less than twenty-one days for the position of motorman upon or in connection with such electric tramway:
And whereas it is provided in section six of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1913, that the Governor in Council may, by Proclamation gazetted, suspend at any time, in respect of any tramway, the operation of the whole or any of the provisions of section two of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910:
And whereas it is expedient to suspend portion of the provisions of the said section two as hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section six of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1913, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby suspend in respect of the whole of the electrical tramway systems in New Zealand for the duration of the war, and for a period of six months after the declaration of peace, the operation of the following words in subsection five of section two of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, namely, “Served as a conductor on an electric tramway in New Zealand for a period of not less than one year and has.”
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies: and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twelfth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Streets in the Borough of Napier of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 40 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifth day of February, 1917.

THE HONOURABLE JAMES ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and seventy-eight of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that where the configuration of any borough is such as that within any particular area or areas thereof it is difficult or inexpedient to construct streets of a width of sixty-six feet, as required by the said Act, the Governor may, by Order in Council defining the limits of such particular area or areas, authorize the Council to permit within such area or areas the construction of streets and private streets of a width less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty feet:
And whereas the configuration of part of the Borough of Napier is such that within the area described in the Schedule hereto it is inexpedient to construct streets of sixty-six feet in width:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Napier Borough Council to permit the laying-off of streets of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than forty feet, within the area described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land situated in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Borough of Napier, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 0 roods 6·2 perches, more or less, being Sections 4 and 5 and part Sections 1, 2, and 3 of Suburban Section 46. As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41364, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon bordered green.

Consenting to stopping a Road in Block IV, Dunback Survey District, Waihemo County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifth day of February, 1917.

THE HONOURABLE JAMES ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained:
And whereas the Waihemo County Council has applied for such consent in respect of the road described in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Waihemo County Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 10 acres 2 roods 11·5 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, and 10, Block IV, Dunback Survey District.
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41550, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured green.

Declaring Whakapirau to Maungaturoto Road Deviation, in the Otamatea County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifth day of February, 1917.

THE HONOURABLE JAMES ALLEN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that road, situated in the Auckland Land District, Otamatea County, known as the Whakapirau to Maungaturoto Road Deviation, commencing at the intersection of the Whakapirau to Maungaturoto Station Road with the southern boundary of Maungaturoto Station Reserve, and proceeding in an easterly, north-easterly, northerly, north-westerly, and westerly direction, and terminating at a point at the intersection of the above-named road with the northern
