Major Andrew Stenhouse, M.B., B.S., N.Z., New Zealand Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and is granted the pay of Lieutenant-Colonel at N.Z. Expeditionary Force rates whilst so acting. Dated 8th April, 1917.

Captain (temp.) Fife Slater, M.B., Ch.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and is granted the pay of Lieut.-Colonel at N.Z. Expeditionary Force rates while so acting. Dated 19th November, 1917.

The undermentioned are appointed members of a Special District Medical Board. Dated 17th November, 1917:—

Lieut.-Colonel John Gethin Hughes, C.M.G., D.S.O., is granted the honorary rank of Colonel on retirement.

2nd Lieutenant Hassell George de Forges Garland, M.C., from the Unattached List (b), General List, to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 2nd October, 1917.

12TH (OTAGO) MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) William Alexander Spiers to be Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 14th November, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND GARRISON ARTILLERY.

Wellington G.A. Division.

2nd Lieutenant Robert Westley Bothamley, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 22nd December, 1917, and is absorbed into the establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 30th January, 1915, vide N.Z. Gazette No. 33, of the 4th March, 1915.

CORPS OF NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.

N.Z. Post and Telegraph Corps (North Island Battalion).

Major William John Worthington (South Island Battalion) is temporarily attached for duty. Dated 19th November, 1917.

Lieutenant John Patrick O’Sullivan is dismissed His Majesty’s Service by sentence of a general court-martial, to date from 22nd August, 1917.

Alfred Leslie to be 2nd Lieutenant on probation. Dated 27th November, 1917.

5TH (WELLINGTON) REGIMENT.

Major Charles Kimbell Gasquoine, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 26th December, 1917, and is absorbed into the establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Captain, as from the 25th June, 1917 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 115, of the 12th July, 1917).

16TH (WAIKATO) REGIMENT.

The undermentioned Lieutenants to be Captains, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913:—

NEW ZEALAND RIFLE BRIGADE.

2nd Lieutenant John Patterson Jerratt, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from the 14th December, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 29th April, 1916 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916).

2nd Lieutenant Alfred Orr, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 26th December, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 4th May, 1916 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 52, of the 22nd March, 1917).

2nd Lieutenant William Lindo Waddel, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from the 26th December, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 27th May, 1916 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916).

2nd Lieutenant Kenneth Godfrey Chamberlain, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from the 22nd December, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 14th October, 1916 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916).

NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.

The appointment of Captain (on probation) William Arthur Wheeler, M.D., B.S., R., Univ. Ire., is confirmed.

Fife Slater, M.B., Ch.B., is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 27th November, 1917.

Captain Robert Stout, M.B., M.D., M.R.C.S., Eng., L.R.C.P. Lond., F.R.C.S. Edin., was posted for duty with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force as from the 18th May, 1915, and takes seniority next above Captain George Fenwick. in the N.Z. Expeditionary Force.

NEW ZEALAND CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The notification published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 132, of 23rd August, 1917, relating to the Reverend William Curzon-Siggers, Chaplain to the Forces, 2nd Class, is cancelled.

The appointment of the Reverend William Curzon-Siggers, Chaplain to the Forces, 2nd Class, is extended for a further period of two years, as from the 15th November, 1917.

The Reverend James Francis Coursey, Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from the 20th December, 1917, and absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class, as from the 5th September, 1914 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 103, of the 24th September, 1917).

NEW ZEALAND ARMY NURSING SERVICE.

Matron Elizabeth Plowman is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from the 13th November, 1917, and is posted to the Retired List. Dated 13th November, 1917.

UNATTACHED LIST (b).

2nd Lieutenant Vivian Henry Sanson to be Lieutenant. Dated 28th October, 1917.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) George George lapses under the provisions of paragraph 89, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 27th November, 1917.
