Land taken for Road Purposes in Blocks XI and XIII, Hawkswood Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for road purposes in Blocks XI and XIII, Hawkswood Survey District:

And whereas agreements have been entered into, in terms of section twenty-seven of the said Act, to take such land for the public work hereinafter set forth:

And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor-General to issue a Proclamation taking the land, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreements hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road purposes; and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Crown Land in Blocks IV and V, Mangonui Survey District, set apart for the Purposes of a Road.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is Crown land, and is required to be set apart for the purposes of a road in Blocks IV and V, Mangonui Survey District:

And whereas by section twenty-one of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that whenever any Crown land is required to be set apart for any public work, the Governor-General may at any time, by Proclamation, set the same apart for such public work without complying with any of the provisions of that Act in respect of the taking or setting-apart of other lands for such purpose:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for the purposes of the said road; and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Resuming Land for a Site for a Public School in Mount Nessing Settlement, Canterbury Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor-General in Council may, by Proclamation, resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under renewable lease from His Majesty the King issued under Part III of the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, dated the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen:

And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a site for a public school:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908, and section sixty-seven of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under renewable lease as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being part of Lot 1A, Mount Nessing Settlement, Block VI, Opawa Survey District. Bounded on the north-west by a public road, 604·3 links; on the north-east by other part of Lot 1A, 1040·2 links; and towards the south-west by Lot 4, Mount Nessing Settlement, 1201 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little
