Stopping Government Roads in Blocks VI, Cairnhill, and
VI, Tiger Hill Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred
and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it
is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation
publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government
road or any part thereof:
And whereas the Government roads described in the
Schedule hereto are no longer required for the purpose of
roads:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-
recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me
in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the roads
described in the Schedule hereto.

Amending an Order in Council vesting the Control of Reserves
for the Improvement and Protection of the Mataura River
in the Mataura Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this tenth day
of December, 1917.

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING
IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the fifth day
of February, one thousand nine hundred and seven-
teen, and published in the Gazette of the fifteenth day of that
month, the control of certain reserves heretofore set apart
for the improvement and protection of the Mataura River—
to wit, Section 78, Block XVII, and Section 10, Block VIII,
Town of Mataura Bridge, in the Southland Land District—
was vested in the Mataura Borough Council in terms of
section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment
Act, 1914:
And whereas it is expedient that the said Order in Council
should be amended so as to authorize the said Borough
Council to remove gravel from the said lands subject to the
conditions hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section two of the Public Reserves
and Domains Amendment Act, 1914, doth hereby order and
declare that nothing in the Order in Council dated the fifth
day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen,
hereinbefore mentioned, shall prevent the said Borough Council
from removing gravel from the said reserves, and from dis-
posing of the gravel so removed, which removal and disposal
is hereby authorized; provided that no gravel shall at any
time be removed from any portion of the said lands if such
removal would be detrimental to the lands as reserves for the
improvement and protection of the Mataura River.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Waipapakauri
Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this tenth day
of December, 1917.

IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), it is enacted that the Governor-General may from
time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint
such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a
Domain Board having, subject to the said Act, control of
such domain:
And whereas by an Order in Council made on the fifth
day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day
of November, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the
domain described in the Schedule hereto was brought under
the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions
of Part II of the said Act:
And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain
Board to control the said domain:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred
by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby appoint
EDWARD EVANS,
GEORGE EVANS,
RICHARD MEDDINS JONES,
ALEXANDER MARIO,
ALBERT RUSSELL,
JOSEPH WEBB, and
LANCE YATES
to be the Waipapakauri Domain Board, having the control of
the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose
of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth
hereby appoint Friday, the eleventh day of January, one
thousand nine hundred and eighteen, at half past seven
o’clock p.m., as the time when, and Evans’s Hall, Waipapa-
kauri, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall
be held.
SCHEDULE.
WAIPAPAKAURI DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 15 acres 1 rood 14 perches, more or less,
being Section 5, Block I, Ahipara Survey District. Bounded
towards the north-west generally by a public road, 275·1,
1016·7, 547·1, and 687·6 links; towards the south-east and
south-west by the Rotoroa Kauri-gum Reserve Extension,
2347·8 and 1161·4 links respectively: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the
plan marked L. and S. 1/618, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.
