Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities from the State Advances Office.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set opposite the names of the said local authorities respectively, for the several purposes specified in the said Schedule, from the State Advances Office:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing from the State Advances Office of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto for the purposes specified in the said Schedule; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
SCHEDULE.
Bruce County Council, £500: For constructing drainage-works.
Dargaville Borough Council, £90: For completing the construction of the Mangawhare Road.
Dargaville Borough Council, £500: For completing the construction of waterworks.
Matamata County Council, £2,500: For metalling roads in the Horahora Special-rating Area.
Piako County Council, £3,000: For metalling roads in the Piakoiti Valley Special-rating Area.
Rangitikei County Council, £240: For metalling about sixty chains of the Williamson Road.
Waitemata County Council, £2,000: For grading, culverting, and metalling roads in the Titirangi Riding.
Wanganui County Council, £2,500: For constructing a concrete suspension bridge at Upokongaroa.

Declaring Portion of the Frasertown to Waikaremoana Road (leading to Waikaremoana Accommodation-house), in the Wairoa County, to be a County Road. 36/11

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1917.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road, in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Wairoa County, known as Frasertown to Waikaremoana Road (leading to the Waikaremoana Accommodation-house), commencing at a point where it is intersected by the Wai-
karetahke River in Forest Reserve, Block 19, Waikaremoana Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction following approximately the shore of Lake Waikaremoana, adjoining or passing through the aforementioned forest reserve, and terminating at the Waikaremoana Accommodation-house site; being a distance of six miles, more or less.
As the said portion of the road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43276, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring Road in the Otamatea County to be a County Road. 34/228

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1917.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road known as the Maungaturoto to Paparoa Road, in the Auckland Land District, Otamatea County, commencing at its junction with Huarau Road, adjoining Section 84, Wairau Parish, Block XVI, Matakoe Survey District, and running in a south-westerly direction generally through the said Section 84 for a distance of thirteen chains, more or less.
As the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43261, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
