HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the undermentioned promotions of officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, Staff, and Territorial Force:—

NEW ZEALAND STAFF CORPS.

Brigadier-General Sir Alfred William Robin, K.C.M.G., C.B., t.d., to be Major-General, with effect from 21st October, 1916.

NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

Colonel (temp. Major-General) Sir Andrew Hamilton Russell, K.C.M.G., A.D.C., to be Major-General, with effect from 21st October, 1916.

STAFF.

Captain (temp.) Francis Edward Ostler, Army Service Corps, is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst holding the appointment of Director of Supplies and Transport, and Inspector of New Zealand Army Service Corps, with effect from 23rd September, 1916.

Honorary Lieutenant (temp.) David Cecil Wallace Cossgrove is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst holding the appointment of Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General at Headquarters, with effect from 1st January, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY.

Captain (temp. Major) Alexander Fowler Roberts, commanding the Wellington Field Artillery Brigade, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed, with effect from 1st January, 1917.
