Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers on Active Service with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and transfers of the undermentioned officers on active service with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force (vide List No. 48, N.Z.E.F. Orders).

COMMANDS AND STAFF.

Lieut.-Colonel R. Young, C.M.G., D.S.O., Canterbury Regiment, to temporarily command 3rd N.Z. (Rifles) Brigade, and is granted the temporary rank of Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 7th August, 1917.

Lieut.-Colonel A. E. Stewart, D.S.O., N.Z. Rifle Brigade, to temporarily command 3rd N.Z. (Rifles) Brigade, vice Lieut.-Colonel (temp. Colonel) R. Young, C.M.G., D.S.O., Canterbury Regiment, wounded, and is granted the temporary rank of Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 9th August, 1917.

Lieutenant R. F. R. Beetham, Wellington Mounted Rifles, relinquishes the appointment of A.D.C. to G.O.C., N.Z. Division. Dated 25th July, 1917.

Lieutenant W. G. Wood, Wellington Regiment, to be A.D.C. to G.O.C., N.Z. Division. Dated 25th July, 1917.

Colonel V. S. Smyth, N.Z. Staff Corps, is seconded for duty as Second in Command, 210th Infantry Battalion. Dated 11th August, 1917.

Lieut.-Colonel (temp. Colonel) R. Young, C.M.G., D.S.O., relinquishes the temporary command of 3rd N.Z. (Rifles) Brigade and the temporary rank of Colonel. Dated 9th August, 1917.

AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

The undermentioned are seconded for duty to New Zealand. Dated 11th July, 1917 :—
