RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Marlborough Racing Club at a meeting held on the 31st day of July, 1917, at Blenheim, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. H. D. Vavasour, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. H. D. Vavasour, the Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. Waddy seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

MARLBOROUGH RACING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Marlborough Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse reserve situate in the District of Omaka, and known as the Riverlands Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the same meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Marlborough Racing Club were made and passed by the Marlborough Racing Club on the 31st day of July, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Marlborough Trotting Club at a meeting held on the 29th day of September, 1917, at Blenheim, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Weld, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. Weld, the Chairman of the Club and of the Meeting, moved, “That it be and hereby is resolved that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.”

The motion was seconded by Mr. Fleming, and carried.

The following are the regulations above referred to:—

MARLBOROUGH TROTTING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Marlborough Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of the said Act, and hereinafter referred to as “the said club,” doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse reserve situate at Riverlands, Omaka, and set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Riverlands Racecourse, while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “trotting club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the said racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Trotting Association.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Marlborough Trotting Club were made and adopted by the said club at its meeting held on the 29th day of September, 1917, and signed by

THE following regulations were laid before the Woodlands Hunt at a meeting held on the 6th day of September, 1917, at Pahiatua, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Hunt, Mr. James McCardle, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. James McCardle, the Chairman of the Hunt and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. Mexted seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

WOODLANDS HUNT.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Woodlands Hunt, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Pahiatua Racecourse and grounds situate in the District of Pahiatua, and known as the Pahiatua Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

WESTERN TAIERI LAND DRAINAGE BOARD.

In the matter of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, the Taieri Land Drainage Act, 1912, and the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908.

I HEREBY give public notice that at the election of one Trustee for the Lee Creek Subdivision of the Western Taieri Land Drainage District, to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. James T. Gibson, held this sixteenth day of October, 1917, the persons hereinafter named were candidates and received the number of votes set opposite their names respectively, that is to say:—

William Garden Reid having received the highest number of votes, I hereby declare the said WILLIAM GARDEN REID to be duly elected.
