Appointments, Promotions, and Resignations of Officers of the Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and resignations of the undermentioned officers of the Territorial Force:—

APPOINTMENTS.

Captain (temp. Major) James Herbert Graham Robertson, M.B., B.S., New Zealand Medical Corps, appointed Principal Medical Officer, Featherston Camp, 2nd December, 1916, is granted the temporary rank of Lieut.-Colonel whilst so employed; to date from 1st October, 1917.

Captain Hugh Lawrence Widdowson, M.B., B.S., N.Z. Univ., New Zealand Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and granted the pay of Lieut.-Colonel at Expeditionary Force rates whilst so acting. Dated 9th October, 1917.

Captain (temp. Major) Henry William Martindale Kendall, M.R.C.S. Eng., New Zealand Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and granted the pay of Lieut.-Colonel at Expeditionary Force rates whilst so acting. Dated 28th September, 1917.

Captain Charles Ernest Clifton, Reserve of Officers, General List, is appointed Commandant, Queen Mary’s Convalescent Home, Hanmer, vice Lieutenant (temp. Captain) William James Hardham, V.C. Dated 29th September, 1917.

Lieut.-Colonel Thomas Anderson Hunter resumes duty as Director of Dental Services. Dated 10th October, 1917.

The undermentioned relinquish their appointments as Expert Dental Advisers to Medical Boards, and the honorary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 20th October, 1917:—

PROMOTIONS AND RESIGNATIONS.

4TH (WAIKATO) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant Ewen John McGregor, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 29th October, 1917, and is absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 26th July, 1917 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 127, of the 9th August, 1917).

8TH (SOUTH CANTERBURY) MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant Ronald Volckman is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 2nd October, 1917.

NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY.

Captain Charles Victor Leeming, M.C., E Battery, to be Major, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 29th December, 1916.

1ST (CANTERBURY) REGIMENT.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 8th August, 1917:—
