And whereas the ratepayers’ consent given under paragraph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular, in that one of the subscribing ratepayers has attested the signatures of other subscribers thereto:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the ratepayers’ consent to the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the signatures to the same had been properly witnessed, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

WHEREAS the Kaitieke County Council, acting under and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, lately proposed to raise a loan of five hundred pounds for the purpose of forming, widening, and culverting a portion of the Waimarino–Retaruke Road:
And whereas the ratepayers’ consent given under paragraph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular, in that one of the subscribing ratepayers has attested the signatures of the other subscribers thereto:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:

Vesting a Pound Reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Thames County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for a site for a public pound: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient that the said land should be vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Thames County:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section four of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Thames County, in trust, for a site for a public pound.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section 25, Block II, Waihou Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the Koukourahi No. 4B Block, 422·3 links; towards the east by the Kopuarahi–Kerepeehi Road, 317·6 links; towards the south and west by Section 30, Block II aforesaid, 400 and 182·4 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 15/13/16, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan No. 17693.)

Declaring a Road-line through Land in Matata Parish, Auckland Land District, to be closed.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS the road described in the Schedule hereto intersects land acquired under the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, for settlement purposes, and by section eight of the last-mentioned Act it is enacted that land so acquired shall be deemed to be settlement land within the meaning of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908:
And whereas a report has been received from the Surveyor-General from which it appears that the said road is unformed and unused and is not suitable to the subdivision of such land:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of section eighty of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the road described in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby declare that the said road shall thereupon become subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road required to be closed: 3 roods 20 perches.
Adjoining Allotments 79 and 81, Matata Parish, situated in Block III, Upper Rangitaiki Survey District.
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/503, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green. (Auckland Plan No. 19524, blue.)
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fifteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Member appointed to Papatowai Scenic Reserves Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-third day of that month, the control of certain reserves in the Otago Land District, known as the Papatowai Bush, Tahakopa Bush, and McLennan River Scenic Reserves, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Papatowai Scenic Reserves Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908: And whereas it is desirable that Claude Gaudin Martin, Esquire, of Tahakopa, should be appointed a member of the said Board, in place of William Martin, Esquire, of Papatowai, who has resigned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint the said CLAUDE GAUDIN MARTIN to be a member of the Papatowai Scenic Reserves Board constituted by the Warrant dated the seventeenth day of March hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said William Martin.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
