WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of
Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-
named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in
that behalf, to execute a certain public work--namely, the
widening of the main Karori Road; and for the purpose of
such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given
that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited
in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in
the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there
open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordi-
nary office hours; and that all persons affected by the
execution of the said public work or the taking of such
lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the
execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said
lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice,
to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk
at his said office.

In the matter of the OTAGO CENTRAL FOUNDRY AND
ENGINEERING COMPANY (LIMITED).
An extraordinary general meeting of the above-named
company duly convened and held at the company's
office, Alexandra South, on the 22nd day of August, 1917,
the following resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent
extraordinary general meeting of the company also duly
convened and held at the same place on the 19th day of
September, 1917, the same resolution was duly confirmed as
a special resolution :—
"That the company be wound up voluntarily under the
provisions of the Companies Act, 1908."
And at such last-mentioned meeting CHARLES EDWARD
RICHARDS, of Alexandra, was appointed Liquidator for the
purposes of the winding-up.

the 20th October next to have my name placed on the Medical
Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have
deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of
the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Auckland.

ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE PHARMACY
BOARD OF NEW ZEALAND.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is my intention to proceed
on Friday, the 26th day of October, 1917, to the
election of eight registered pharmaceutical chemists of New
Zealand to serve as members of the Pharmacy Board of New
Zealand, in the place of the members who retire on the 31st
day of December, 1917, and are eligible for re-election. Members will require to be elected as follows :-
Two members for the Central District, to be elected by
the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing within
the District of Wellington, the boundaries of which
are the same as those of the Provincial District of
Wellington, Hawke's Bay, Nelson, and Marlborough.
The retiring members are GEORGE BAGLEY and
FREDERICK CASTLE, who are eligible for re-election.
Two members for the District of Auckland, to be elected
by the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing
within the District of Auckland, the boundaries of
which are the same as those of the Provincial Districts of Auckland and Taranaki. The retiring members are JOHN MITCHELL JEFFERSON and PETER
MITCHELL MACKAY, who are eligible for re-election.
Two members for the District of Canterbury, to be
elected by the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing within the District of Canterbury, the boundaries of which are the same as those of the Provincial Districts of Canterbury and Westland. The retiring members are WILLIAM BARRETT and LEONARD BON-
INGTON, who are eligible for re-election.
Two members for the District of Otago, to be elected
by the registered pharmaceutical chemists residing within the District of Otago. The retiring members
are JAMES ALEXANDER HASLETT and BENJAMIN SMITH
SCOFIELD, who are eligible for re-election.
Nominations will close at the office of the Registrar,
Featherston Street, Wellington, at 4 p.m. on Friday, the 12th
day of October, 1917.
Forms of nomination may be obtained on application to
the Registrar or the Deputy Registrars.

In the matter of the Administration Act, 1908, and in the
matter of the estate of JAMES REID, of Auckland, Share-
broker, deceased.
WE hereby give notice that by an order of the Supreme
Court dated the 18th day of September, 1917, we
were appointed Administrators of the estate of the above-
named JAMES REID, deceased, to administer the estate of the
said deceased under the provisions of the Administration
Act, 1908, and we hereby call a meeting of creditors to be
held at the offices of Parr and Blomfield, Solicitors, Williamson Chambers, Shortland Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 2nd
day of October next at 2.30 p.m.
All claims against the above estate must be lodged with
us on or before the 17th day of November, 1917.

meeting of shareholders of the Premier Joinery Manufacturing Company (Limited) duly convened and held
on Monday, the 17th day of September, 1917, at 2.45 o'clock
in the afternoon, the following extraordinary resolution was
passed :
"That it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that
the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its
business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and
accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily."
