DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

THE Partnership hitherto existing between THOMAS MILLER SCOTT and WILLIAM SCOTT (the Younger), carrying on business as Fellmongers under the style of "Scott Bros.," has been dissolved as from the 1st day of January, 1916.
The business as from that date has and will in future be carried on by WILLIAM SCOTT (the Younger), who will pay all debts due by the late Partnership.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Corporation of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Clifton proposes to take the above-mentioned lands under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purpose of a road, as defined by the said Act.
A plan of the said lands showing the names of the owners and occupiers thereof is deposited for inspection at the County Office situate in West Quay, Waitara.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said lands or the proposed work, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Corporation at Waitara.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
SUPPLEMENTARY WATER AND SEWERAGE LOAN OF £2,400, 1917.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand four hundred pounds (£2,400), authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council, under section 18 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of the completion of the works necessary for duplicating the twelve-inch water-mains at Tiritea, extending the water reticulation within the borough, and extending the sewer through unsewered streets where necessary [being 10 per cent. additional on a special loan of twenty-four thousand pounds (£24,000) authorized to be raised by a poll of the ratepayers taken on the 24th day of May, 1916, for the aforesaid purpose, the latter amount being insufficient to complete the works for which such loan was raised], the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby appropriates the special rate of one-farthing in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North made and levied by resolution passed on the 1st day of August, 1916, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette on the 10th day of August, 1916, at page 2675 ; and the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Palmerston North Borough Council held on the 18th day of September, 1917.
