NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of Abraham and Williams (Limited), Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, on Tuesday, the sixteenth day of October, 1917, at 2.15 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE IN CONNECTION WITH A LOAN OF £1,200.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of one thousand two hundred pounds (£1,200), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming and culverting portion of the Otorohanga-Rangiatea Road, also building a bridge over the Mahoanui Stream, and also for paying the cost of survey and other expenses in connection with legalizing the said road, the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence three-farthings in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all the rateable property in the Waipa Special-rating Area, such special-rating area being bounded as follows:

Commencing at the south-west corner of section Otorohanga 1D; thence following the western boundary of the said section to the Otorohanga-Kihikihi Road; thence along the said road to the northern boundary of Otorohanga 1F 4B; thence along the eastern boundary of the said section, the northern boundary of 1F 4A, the north-western and eastern boundary of Mahoaonui-Wharereina, to the northern boundary of Mangawhero 2A; thence along the northern boundaries in an easterly direction of the said section Mangawhero 2A, Mangawhero 1F, Mangawhero 1G, to the north-east corner of Mangawhero 1G; thence in an imaginary line in an easterly direction to the south-west corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2c Section 3, cutting Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2H Section 2A, 29c 2H Section 2B, 29c 2H Section 2C, in half; thence along the western boundary of section Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2c Section 3 to a point drawing an imaginary line to the western boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2c, taking portion of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2c 3; thence along the western boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c No. 2c to the north-west corner of the said section; thence along the northern and eastern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2c, the eastern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2E, to the south-east corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2E; thence along the southern boundary of the said section and the southern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 29c 2G to the Waipa River; thence along the Waipa River in a westerly direction to the starting-point.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE IN CONNECTION WITH A LOAN OF £4,000.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of continuing the metalling on the Takiri Road to about the 6¼ mile peg, and repumicing the remaining portion as far as Tangitu, also the maintenance of the road from Waimiha to Tangitu, the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Tangitu Special-rating Area, such special-rating area being bounded as follows:

Commencing at the railway-line at the south-west corner of section Rangitoto-Tuhua 77B 1B 2C; thence along the western boundary of the said section to the southern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua 77B Section 2A; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the said section to a point cutting section Rangitoto-Tuhua 77B Section 2A in half, an imaginary line drawn from this point to the south-west corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua 77A Section 1; thence along the eastern boundary, northern boundary, and western boundary of the said section, the north-western boundary of Section 16, Block II, Tangitu Survey District, the north-eastern boundary of Section 15 to the south-east corner of Section 6; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 6, the north-east boundary of Section 3, Block II, Tangitu Survey District, the eastern boundaries of Sections 22, 21, 19, 20; thence along the northern boundaries in a westerly direction of Sections 20 and 19 of Block XII, Mapara Survey District, to the Mapiu Road; thence along the north-west boundary of the township reserve to the eastern boundary of Section 22; thence along the eastern boundary in a northerly direction of Section 22, the eastern and northern boundary of Section 12, the northern boundary of Section 11, the eastern boundary of Sections 2 and 1, the northern boundary in a westerly direction of Section 1 to the north-west corner of the said Section 1; thence by the western boundaries in a southerly direction of Sections 1 and 3, all of Block XI, Mapara, to the north-east corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua part 61K; thence along the northern and western boundary of the said section to the north-east corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua 61P Section 1; thence along the northern and western boundary of the said section to the south-west corner of Section 2, Block IV, Tangitu, this being a point on the boundary-line between the Ohura and Waitomo Counties; thence along the boundary of the two counties in a south-easterly direction to the western boundary of Section 2, Block VI, Tangitu; thence along the northern boundaries in an easterly direction of the said Section 2, Block VI, Tangitu Survey District, Sections 1 and 2, Block VII, Tangitu, to the railway-line; thence along the railway-line in a northerly direction to the starting-point.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waitomo was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Waitomo County Council in the presence of--
