2nd Lieutenant Charles Edwin Gilbert is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 4th September, 1917.
9TH (HAWKE’S BAY) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant John Walter Snaddon, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 18th May, 1917, and is absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 18th December, 1914 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 10, of the 28th January, 1915).
13TH (NORTH CANTERBURY AND WESTLAND) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant Arthur Valentine Williams, from the Corps of N.Z. Engineers, N.Z. Railway Battalions, South Island, to be Lieutenant. Dated 4th September, 1917.
NEW ZEALAND RIFLE BRIGADE.
Earl of Liverpool’s Own.
2nd Lieutenant Rupert Cecil Wood, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, and absorbed into the Establishment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from the 1st April, 1916 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916); to date from 31st July, 1917.
The notification published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 98, of the 14th June, 1917, relating to 2nd Lieutenant John Walter Snaddon, is cancelled.

Lieutenant Norman Arthur Vercoe, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is struck off the strength, with effect from 23rd September, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Lieutenant, as from the 24th May, 1915 (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 89, of the 22nd July, 1915).
The following is substituted for the notification published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 20, of the 24th February, 1916, relating to 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Charles Isbister. Dated 19th January, 1916:—

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments and promotions of the undermentioned officers of the Territorial Force:—
APPOINTMENTS.
Major Robert Macquorn Gairdner, 7th (Southland) Mounted Rifles, is appointed Officer Commanding the detachment on Quarantine Island and Officer in Charge of Guards on Transports at Port Chalmers, with the rank and pay of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 14th August, 1917.
Lieutenant Arthur Sagar Bailey, Unattached List (b), is appointed an Attesting Officer under the Military Service Act, 1916. Dated 17th June, 1917.
2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) Edgar Thomson Shand, 5th Mounted Rifles (Otago Hussars), performed the duties of Adjutant to the Otago University Officers’ Training Corps from the 30th July, 1917, and is confirmed in the appointment as from that date. Dated 10th September, 1917.
