Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block I, Cheviot Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a road in Block I, Cheviot Survey District:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said road; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land taken:

7 1 20, portion of Section 1, Square 85.

Situated in Block I, Cheviot Survey District.

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42079, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land for the Preservation of Scenery in Block X, Waipakura Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that any land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken, or that any error in form or substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation, the Governor-General may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or in so far as he thinks necessary:

And whereas it is found that portion of the land taken for the preservation of scenery in Block X, Waipakura Survey District, by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eleven (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 4, page 168, of the eighteenth day of the following month, is not now required for the purpose for which it was taken:

And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the said portion of land has not been paid or awarded:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the said Proclamation as affects the piece of land which is described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land not now required: 5 acres 1 rood 22 perches.

Portion of Ramahiku la, situated in Block X, Waipakura Survey District.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42885, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fifteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Stopping Government Roads in Block XI, Waikohu Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government roads described in the Schedule hereto are no longer required for the purpose of roads:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the roads described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of roads hereby stopped:

0 1 31·6, adjoining or passing through Sections 3 & 5.

0 1 11·7 " Secs. 4, 5, & 3.

Situated in Block XI, Waikohu Survey District (Poverty Bay R.D.).

In the Hawke's Bay Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42592 (sheet 1), deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
