Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, does hereby cancel the said license.

Vesting the Control of certain Reserves in the Nelson Land Board.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twelve of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, as amended by section six of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916, it is enacted that in respect of any lands set apart in the South Island of New Zealand to make provision for landless Natives, or permanently reserved by Proclamation for the purpose of providing land for landless Natives, whether under the South Island Landless Natives Act, 1906, or since the repeal of that Act, the Governor in Council may vest the control of the same by Order in Council in the Land Board (under the Land Act, 1908) of the district within which the same are situated:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto have been duly set apart to make provision for landless Natives in the South Island:
And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to vest the control of the lands described in the Schedule hereto in the Nelson Land Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said section twelve of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, as amended by the said section six of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the
Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £4,000 proposed to be raised by the Tua-Tua-Moana Drainage Board.

WHEREAS the Tua-Tua-Moana Drainage Board, acting under and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, lately proposed to raise a loan of four thousand pounds for the purpose of constructing drainage-works:
And whereas the public notices of the special order authorizing the raising of the loan, although four publications were made, were not given once in each of the four weeks immediately preceding the day on which the special order was confirmed, inasmuch as no public notices were given in the second and fourth weeks as required by section ninety-seven of the Counties Act, 1908:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the proceedings taken to raise the said loan in so far as the validity of the proceedings may be affected by the failure to publish the said public notifications in the proper manner; and doth hereby declare that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection by Discharged Soldiers on Renewable Lease.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto, which have been set apart for selection by discharged soldiers under ordinary tenures, shall be open for selection by discharged soldiers on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare—
That the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915:
That, for the purposes of section one hundred and twenty-seven of the Land Act, 1908, the said lands shall be deemed to be “swamp land”:
That after the first half-year's rent has been paid by the selector, the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of two years shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land, the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board thinks fit.

Rich swamp, now being drained. Formerly heavy kahikatea forest, from which the milling-timber has been removed. Water can be obtained from the drains, or probably by sinking.
date hereof, the control of the lands described in the Schedule hereto (being lands set apart in the South Island of New Zealand to make provision for landless Natives) shall be and the same is hereby vested in the Land Board of the Nelson Land District.
