capital value, £1,090; half-yearly rent, £21 16s.
About 35 acres rich swamp, balance undulating limestone
land of good quality, ploughable; covered with light mixed
forest. Some rough feed which would carry a few milking-
cows in its present state. Well watered. Distant about
five miles and a quarter from Naumai Wharf.
Section 25, Block XII: Area, 71 acres 2 roods 39 perches;
capital value, £1,080; half-yearly rent, £21 12s.
About 50 acres rich swamp, balance good ploughable lime-
stone land, covered with light mixed forest; well watered.
Situated about five miles and a half from Naumai Wharf,
four miles and a half of which is by good road, balance to be
formed. Sufficient rough feed to carry a few milking-cows
at present time.
Section 9, Block XII: Area, 53 acres 1 rood; capital
value, £960; half-yearly rent, £19 4s.

value, £960; half-yearly rent, £19 4s.
Rich swamp land; about half of each section is worked-out
kahikatea forest, balance cabbage-tree, flax, and raupo.
Sufficient rough feed on each section to carry a few milking
cows. Water can be obtained from drains, or probably by
sinking. Distant about two miles and three-quarters to three
miles from Ruawai Wharf, a quarter of a mile of which is not
formed.
Second-class Land.
Section 2, Block XII: Area, 102 acres 0 roods 22 perches;
capital value, £620; half-yearly rent, £12 8s.
Undulating land, mostly covered with heavy mixed forest
comprising puriri, taraire, &c., and old kauri-workings. Soil
generally of good quality, with a strip of poor sandy soil
running through the centre of the section. Distant about
four miles and a half from Naumai Wharf by formed road.

Amending Regulations governing the Appointment, Promotion,
and Gradation of Members of the New Zealand Expedi-
tionary Force.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority
conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, its amend-
ments, and the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces Act, 1915,
I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend,
in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule
hereto, the regulations published in the New Zealand Gazette
of the seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred
and sixteen, governing the appointment, promotion, and
gradation of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary
Force.
SCHEDULE.

PARAGRAPH 23 is hereby amended by adding, after the
words "The New Zealand Medical Corps," the words "The
New Zealand Dental Corps." -
After paragraph 28 add-
"28A. An officer holding the appointment of Adjutant is
not eligible for the grant of temporary higher rank, under
the provisions of paragraphs 15 (6) and (c), whilst performing
the duties of an officer absent through wounds, sickness, or
other cause, unless and until he has not only relinquished
his appointment of Adjutant, but has also performed the
absent officer's duties for thirty days after such relinquish-
ment."

General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby autho-
rize and appoint
GEOFFREY FYNMORE FOX, Esquire,
of Wellington, to act during my pleasure as a Censor of
Telegraphic Messages in respect of the telegraph stations
at or near Wellington, and in such capacity to act as an
assistant and under the control of the Censor, Walter Sander-
son Curtis, Esquire.
