makes and levies a special rate, on a graduated scale according
to the classification list of lands within the said district, of
two shillings and ninepence three-farthings in the pound on
the unimproved value of all lands in Class “A,” of two
shillings and eightpence three-farthings in the pound on the
unimproved value of all lands in Class “B,” and of two
shillings and sevenpence in the pound on the unimproved
value of all lands in Class “C,” all of which classes and lands
therein, together with their rateable values as appearing on
the special roll of the district, are set out in the classification
list marked “A” of the Rui-o-Hauraki Special Drainage
District, the boundaries of which are as follows,—
All that area of land in the Morrinsville Riding of the
County of Piako commencing at where the boundary between
Piako and Ohinemuri Counties crosses the Piako River,
thence southerly along the Piako River to the Mangahika
Stream, along this stream in a westerly direction to the
Morrinsville–Tahuna Road, along the Morrinsville–Tahuna
Road in a northerly direction to the southern boundary of
Block IX, Waitoa S.D., along the southern boundary of this
block in a westerly direction to area marked “Forest Re-
serve,” northerly along the eastern boundary of the forest
reserve to the southern boundary of area described as C.L.,
containing 2,334 acres, along such southern boundary west-
erly, and then northerly along the western boundary of said
area to the county boundary, which along in an easterly
direction to the point of commencement.
Such rates shall be annual-recurring rates during the
currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st
days of April and October in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.
I certify that the above resolution making a special rate
was duly passed at a meeting of the Piako County Council
held on the 21st day of May, 1907.

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Marton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £2,250, authorized to be raised by the
Marton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose (together with accrued sinking funds) of
repaying a special loan of £2,500 raised by the Marton Borough
Council in the year 1907 for the purpose of erecting a new
gas-holder, and the extension of gasworks plant, mains, and
services of the gasworks of the borough, the said Marton
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
five-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property of the Borough of Marton, comprising the whole
of the Borough of Marton; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid on.
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolu-
tion passed at an ordinary meeting of the Marton Borough
Council held on Saturday, 25th August, 1917, at 7.30 p.m.
In testimony whereof we have hereunto signed our names,
and the seal of the said Council has been hereunto affixed,
this 25th day of August, 1917.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between us, ALEXANDER MAINE AITKEN
and PATRICK JOSEPH HELEAN, carrying on business as Tailors,
Costumiers, and Outfitters at the Octagon, Dunedin, under
the style or firm of “W. Aitken & Son,” has been dis-
solved by mutual consent as from the 25th day of August,
1917, and that all debts due to and owing by the said Partner-
ship will be received and paid respectively by the said
ALEXANDER MAINE AITKEN, who will continue to carry on
the said business under the style of “W. Aitken & Son.”

matter of the CROATIAN PUBLISHING COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-
up of the above-named company by the Supreme
Court of New Zealand was on the 24th day of August, 1917,
presented to the Honourable Thomas Walter Stringer, a
Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, by the Business
Printing Works (Limited), of Albert Street, in the City of
Auckland, a creditor of the said company; and the said
petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said
Court on the 17th day of September, 1917, at 10.30 o’clock
in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court House Chambers,
Waterloo Quadrant, Auckland.
Any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous
to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the
said company under the above Act should appear at the time
of hearing by himself or his counsel for that purpose; and
a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or
contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the
undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

BOROUGH OF WAIMATE.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
WHEREAS the Waimate Borough Council took steps
to raise a loan of £5,000 for street-improvement
works: And whereas this sum has now been found insuffi-
cient to complete the works: And whereas it is found
necessary to raise a further ten per centum under section 18
of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers
vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, the Waimate Borough Council hereby resolves as
follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £500 (being an amount of ten per centum
of the original loan), authorized to be raised by the Waimate
Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, and more
particularly section 18 thereof, for completing the street-
improvement works, the said Waimate Borough Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twelfth (1/12th)
of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rate-
able property of the Borough of Waimate, comprising the
whole of the Borough of Waimate; and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring special rate during the
currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly upon the
first day of October in each and every year during the cur-
rency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.
Passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Waimate
Borough Council held on Wednesday, 29th August, 1917.
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy and extract
from the minutes of proceedings of the Council of the Borough
of Waimate at the meeting above mentioned.
