REGULATIONS.

  1. No person shall haul or use a trawl-net for the purpose of taking fish in that portion of the sea which is within three miles of high-water mark of ordinary spring tides of that portion of the mainland lying between the most southern-most point of Busby Point, near Whangarei Heads, to the north-western point of Mackenzie Cove.

  2. Any person committing a breach of clause 1 of these regulations is liable to a penalty of not less than £1 and not exceeding £20.

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £2,000 proposed to be raised by the Mangonui County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of August, 1917.

Present :

His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Mangonui County Council lately proposed to raise a loan of two thousand pounds, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of repairing roads, culverts, and bridges destroyed through flood damage through the county :

And whereas an irregularity or defect occurred in the voting-paper used at the poll upon the said proposal, in that the term of the said loan (namely, thirty-six years and a half) was not set forth in such voting-paper :

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the term of the said loan had been stated in the said voting-paper, and that the proceedings shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.

Appointing Commissioners to classify Pastoral Runs in Southland Land District.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the two-hundred-and-twenty-fifth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

HENRY DOUGLAS MORPETH HASZARD,
HENRY JONATHAN MIDDLETON, and
WILLIAM JAMES ANNAN MCGREGOR

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural land in the Southland Land District known as Run 525, Hokonui District; Run 424, New River Hundred; Runs 1, 2A, 3, 4, and 7, Coneburn, Mid-Wakatipu, South Wakatipu, and Eyre North Districts; and Run 154A, Taringatura District: as provided by the said section two hundred and twenty-five.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of Portion of a Quarantine Reserve in Waimea Survey District, Nelson Land District.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve heretofore duly set apart for quarantine purposes, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule to the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 :

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the portion of the said reserve should be changed to a reserve for a rifle range :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, aforesaid, declare my intention to change the purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from quarantine purposes to a reserve for a rifle range.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 48 acres, more or less, and being part of Section 34 of Square 1 in Block III, Waimea Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by high-water mark along the shore of Tasman Bay; towards the north-east generally by a road forming the north-west boundary of the Public Hospital Reserve (being part of Section 34), by the said reserve, and by a proposed road leading thereto through the said Section 34; towards the south-east by a road forming the north-west boundary of Section 86; and towards the south generally by high-water mark along the shore of an inlet from the estuary of the Waimea River. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/11/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red and bordered green.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Trustee for the Palmerston Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ALEXANDER McLENNAN

to be a trustee, in the place of David Mainland Philip, who has resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Palmerston Public Cemetery, in conjunction with James Cock Walton Gilmore, George Sutherland, James Kitchen, William Robertson, John Munro McKenzie, William McGregor, William McLeod, and Donald Sutherland, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

to be trustees for the maintenance and care of the Skipper’s Point Public Cemetery, in the places of Andrew Lambie and Robert Stevenson, resigned, and John Alexander Johnston, who has left the district, to act in conjunction with John Henderson and William McPherson, previously appointed.
