At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of August, 1917.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Feilding Permanent Building and Investment Society, under the Trustee Amendment Act, 1914.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of August, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to approve the Feilding Permanent Building and Investment Society as an institution for the purposes of section three of the Trustee Amendment Act, 1914:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve the said Feilding Permanent Building and Investment Society as an institution with which, subject to the provisions of the said Act, it shall be lawful for a trustee, unless expressly forbidden by the instrument (if any) creating the trust, to invest any trust funds in his hands on deposit at interest.

Prohibiting the Exportation of Salt.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of August, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-seven of the Customs Act, 1913, as extended by section twenty-four of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Act, 1914, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, prohibit the exportation of any goods the prohibition of the exportation of which is in his opinion necessary in the public interest:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is necessary in the public interest that the exportation of salt should be prohibited to the extent and in the manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section forty-seven of the Customs Act, 1913, and section twenty-four of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Act, 1914, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, doth hereby prohibit the exportation of salt from the said Dominion save with the consent of the Minister of Customs.

Prohibiting Trawling in a Portion of Whangarei Bay.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of August, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the fifth section of the Fisheries Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), that the Governor-General in Council may from time to time make regulations, which shall have general force and effect throughout the Dominion, or particular force and effect only in any waters or places specified therein, for, amongst other things, prescribing conditions and restrictions for the regulating of fishing and the taking of fish, and for prohibiting the use of any particular engines, tackles, or apparatus for taking any fish:

And whereas it is desirable to prohibit the taking of fish by trawling and the use of trawl-nets in that portion of the sea hereinafter specified:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations for the purposes of the said Act.
