NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between JOHN ANDREW WILLIAMS and EDWIN ALEXANDER GUTHRIE, carrying on business as Engineers and Blacksmiths at Number 59 Castle Street, Dunedin, in Otago, New Zealand, under the style or firm of “James Mann & Co.,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as on and from the twenty-third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said EDWIN ALEXANDER GUTHRIE, who will continue to carry on the said business under the style or firm of “James Mann & Co.”

The said JOHN ANDREW WILLIAMS will continue his connection with the said business as Manager thereof.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Rangitikei Hunt Club at a meeting held on the tenth day of July, 1917, at Marton, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. D. G. Riddiford, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. D. G. Riddiford, the Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. W. J. Simpson seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

RANGITIKEI HUNT CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Rangitikei Hunt Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the grounds situate in the District of Rangitikei, and known as the Marton Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Rangitikei Hunt Club were made and passed by the Rangitikei Hunt Club on the tenth day of July, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL RESOLUTION MADE ON FOURTH DAY OF AUGUST, 1917.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorized to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for rebuilding Tolaga River Bridge, £5,000; erecting Wigan Bridge, £2,000; construction main East Coast Road and necessary bridges thereon, £5,000, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventh of a penny in the £1 upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tolaga Riding Loan No. 3 Special-rating District, comprising the whole of the Tolaga Riding of the County of Cook. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest not to exceed five and a quarter per cent. (5¼%).

HUNTLY ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Huntly Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Huntly Road Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of metalling the roads of the Starrtown Special-rating Area, the said Huntly Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1·1d. (one and one-tenth pence) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Starrtown Special-rating Area, comprising all that land in the Huntly Road District of the Waikato County, in the Auckland Province, enclosed within a boundary commencing at the S.W. corner of Sec. 321, Taupiri Parish, and proceeding northward to the N.W. corner of Sec. 321; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Sec. 321 and the shores of Lake Hakanoa to the N.W. corner of Lot 19 of Sec. 463; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 19 and across a public road to the S.W. corner of Sec. 13; thence north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-west and north-east boundaries of Lots 13, 14, 15, and 16 to the S.W. corner of Lot 16; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Lot 16, across a public road, and along the south-western boundaries of Lots 18 and 18A to a public road; thence northerly along the western boundary of Lot 18A and across a public road to the starting-point: all in Blocks XII and XVI of Rangi-
