HUNTLY ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Huntly Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £400, authorized to be raised by the Huntly Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the further metalling of the roads of the Kimihia Special-rating Area, the said Huntly Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2/5 (two-fifths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Kimihia Special-rating Area, comprising all the land in the Huntly Road District of the Waikato County, in the Auckland Province, enclosed within a boundary commencing at the S.W. corner of Sec. 3, Taupiri Parish, and proceeding northwards by the western boundaries of Secs. 3, 7, 9, to the N.W. corner of Sec. 9; thence south-east along a public road, and across such road to the south-west corner of Sec. 11; thence along the western and northern boundaries of Sec. 11 to the boundary of Kimihia Lake; thence southerly, easterly, and northerly along the shores of the said lake to the S.W. corner of Lot 2 of Sec. 463; thence northerly by the western boundary of Lots 2 and 1 of Sec. 463 to the N.W. corner of Lot 1; thence easterly by the northern boundary of Lot 1 to the N.E. corner of Lot 1; thence generally in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 of Sec. 463 to the S.E. corner of Lot 12; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the boundaries of Lot 13 to the N.W. corner of Lot 13; thence across a public road, and north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Lot 20 to Hakanoa Lake; thence northerly and westerly along the shores of the said lake to the S.W. corner of Sec. 306; thence northerly along the western boundary of Sec. 306 and across a public road to the starting-point: all in Blocks XII and XVI of the Rangiriri S.D. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned, GEORGE WALKER and JOHN GEORGE CAMPBELL, as Physicians and Surgeons, carried on at Whangarei under the style of “Walker & Campbell,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 7th day of August, 1917.

All debts due to and owing by the late Partnership will be received and paid respectively by the said GEORGE WALKER.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club at a special meeting held on Wednesday, 11th July, 1917, at 10.30 a.m., with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. H. Hassall, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. H. Hassall, Chairman of the Club and the Meeting, moved, and Mr. J. H. Macniven seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s Racecourse while the same is being used or occupied by the Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers, bookmakers’ clerks, betting agents, and layers of starting-prices, and all persons who have been guilty of any malpractice or dishonourable conduct in connection with racing or betting, or have been warned off any racecourse by any racing club.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

  1. No person as in the preceding sections is mentioned shall obtain the right to come and go upon the racecourse or to remain thereon by reason of his being a member of any racing or jockey club, or of his having paid any fee or obtained any ticket of admission, and his ejection from the course shall give him no right to a return of his fee or ticket.

The foregoing regulations of the Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club were made and passed by the Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club on the 11th July, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Bruce County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of the principal and interest and also the other charges on a supplementary loan of £180, authorized to be raised by the Bruce County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the work of deepening and extending the Tuakitoto and Kaitangata Lakes Canal and providing a modern lock for same, the said Bruce County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area known as the Lakes Drainage District, comprising Blocks II to XII, both inclusive, South Tuakitoto Survey District; Sections 4, 5, 6, and 7, Block VII, Sections 3 and 4, Block VIII, and the whole of Block IX, North Molyneux Survey District. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of February and the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of and extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the Bruce County Council as passed at a meeting of the said Council at Milton on the seventh day of August, 1917.
